In my humble opinion, Ürzig is only suitable if you have your own transportation. There isn't much to do there, and practically no restaurants or cafes. Nevertheless, it's a charming little place and definitely perfect for a short trip.

Nicely centrally located for visiting surrounding villages (Bernkastel, Cochem, etc.), quiet and the Urziger Wurzgarten is nice (also because it is the only one with the red slate which gives a certain spiciness to the Mosel wines from this part of the Mosel region)

It feels like every house is a holiday home.

It feels like every house is a holiday home. Locals mostly live a little further out, which isn't a problem. Eating out can be a bit tricky if you're from a big city and have high standards. If you want to buy anything other than wine, you have to go to the next town, which is only a short drive away. A beautiful place.

A great location for enjoyable excursions and drives along the Moselle River. Our accommodation was situated a bit higher, which provided a beautiful view. The food at the hotel was also excellent; otherwise, the town lacks any other amenities. You'll have to do your shopping/groceries elsewhere. But planning ahead during a trip will solve that.

Not comparable to Cochem, etc. Quiet location, only a few restaurants. Somewhat old-fashioned, hardly worth seeing. Winemakers: Good wines. We recommend, among others, the "Würzig" restaurant in Urzig and the Sant Maternus cellar...

A place that seems to be on the verge of extinction.

A place that seems to be on the verge of extinction. Many empty buildings, hotels, restaurants, and wineries, some of them closed. No shopping facilities. Transportation is by foot, bicycle, taxi, private car, or possibly by boat.

The staff are exceptionally friendly and professional. The hotel is located in a very nice area, it has a huge sunny terrace facing the river and the adjoining breakfast room also has a nice river view. The breakfast had a very good choice of fresh and dried fruits, bread, cheese, etc., all of which was very nicely served. Our room was small and it did not face the river but it was quiet at night and we did not regret because we used to come back only for the sleep. The location is good for visiting other towns in the area.
