Rincón d'Olón is in the center of Olón and offers a small, heated outdoor pool, free continental breakfast buffet and high-speed WiFi. Amazing value! Great location steps from the bus station. Very clean and Jigs the owner is super accommodating making sure that we were comfortable. Comfortable beds, clean sheets and towels provided and anything else you need you just have to ask. The kitchenette is an added bonus as there are great supermarkets just a block away with fresh vegetables and fruit if you want to cook your own food which we did. The beach was amazing for running miles and miles as was the road and there are also some good single track trails. Jigs provides a breakfast buffet which is good of fruit eggs, sausage and bread and coffee and tea from 830 to 10. There is a pharmacy and a bakery which opens at 7 am and the bread is always fresh. Already pre booked for next year! Three hours from Guyaguil by bus and it’s super reasonable. It’s a nice quiet location if you’re looking for something quieter and there are a lot of restaurants around as well with gluten free options. Also there’s laundry services around the corner for 50 cents a pound.

Happy hill is a beautiful place to stay. It is so tranquil and peaceful but is still close enough to the major towns of Olón and Montanita. The rooms are comfortable and we loved using the swimming pool everyday and ending our night on the verandah overlooking the ocean! The breakfast everyday was delicious also and all of the staff working at Happy hill are so friendly and helpful. We are sad to leave and can’t wait to come back in the future!

Olon is a growing small walking town. No need for a car. Beautiful beach for walking, about six miles in length. Great waves to learn how to surf. During the day there are food and beverage vendors open on the beach. Tents and chairs available for rent. We ate at some great restaurants. MO MO restaurant & deli, Bululu sandwich shop, Roadside cafe, Rasimar restaurant, Wine bar were names of eateries we enjoyed. Olon is located a short distance from Montanita (a party town). Taxi ride is only $1.50 or catch a bus for 50cents.
Sweet place, lovely people, lots of good eating places and enjoyable beach area. Near to Puerto Lopez for boats to Isla de la Plata, Playa Los Fraillos, and Agua Blanca for a mud massage! All highly recommended and easily reachable by local inexpensive bus.

Life in Olon is very chilled out and everyone is very friendly. Cocktails and seafood on the beach is very reasonably priced with cocktails such as a mojito or caiproinha only costing 3 dollars, even for 'fuerte'. We used outdoor ecuador for some surfing lessons (they also offer spanish too) and we were met with great service and a great couple of surfing lessons. There are some great restaurants around the square - ras al mar and isoras were great!
Olon was nice - though once I got to Canoa I wish I had spent less time in Olon and more in Canoa. Olon was nice as it has Montanita nearby which has a bunch of restaurants (though the ones in Olon are good also). I was there to learn to surf, which I did. The waves are steady and were great for learning.
I fell in love with Olon. We have been in ecuador 4 winters now, from wisconsin. And Olon is the first place I thought "I could live here". I love all of Ecuador but Olon has something special.
This is a magical and peaceful getaway on the hill overlooking the ocean , a short taxi, bus ride or 1 hour walk along the beach from Olon. The rooms are clean and spacious . The staff could not have been more kind and helpful. There is a nice kitchen and the pool and balcony are beautiful. There are two amazing dogs who were very friendly. We even saw a big iguana a few times in the garden. Would recommend to anyone who likes peace and quiet.
A bit away from the beach (less than 3 min walk) so quiet (not that Olón is a noisy town). This was our second visit to Olón in 2 weeks. This B and B is spotless. Probably the cleanest place we’ve stayed in the last 2 months in Ecuador. Very comfortable, and air conditioning in the room that was fantastic. Breakfast was typical for Ecuador but delicious with EXCELLENT coffee. Gluten free choice available for breakfast as well.
This is a gorgeous facility north of Olon, Ecuador that feels like paradise for just a few guests at a time. The facility is on a remote and quiet beach, with swimming options at the beach or in the sparkling clean pool. For anyone looking for a peaceful, quiet location to restore your soul, this is it. It is definitely one of the most beautiful locations on the coast of Ecuador, and it's a privilege to stay here.
The hotel is in a perfect location on a quiet long stretch of beach . The grounds are nicely landscaped and the buildings very attractive. We stayed two nights in a first floor room with a little balcony with hammocks and a beautiful view of the beach. Our room was comfortable and quiet with only the sound of the ocean. Breakfast was good in the open-air restaurant . The managers of the property were very nice.
Lovely place right near the beach. Clearly a labour of love with lots of great features in the rooms and common areas. Friendly host, fresh bread every day, and a characterful dog named Dixie who will happily show you around the neighbourhood. Olon itself was a great little village for those who want a more chilled out time. Three nights was nowhere near enough.
Great location, centrally located in town only two blocks to beach. Inexpensive clean rooms. Very nice staff. Close to good restaurants. Stayed here three different times. Usually very quiet little town and only a couple of miles from Montanita. Olon has a beautiful clean beach with vendors serving cocktails and Ecuadorian food.
Great location close to beach, really nice owners and staff, tasty breakfast, incredibly clean and well maintained hotel, nice garden area to relax in, rooms and bathrooms are simple but well appointed and finished to a high standard. Photos don’t really do it justice I don’t think!
We really enjoyed spending a few days in this laid back hotel. The rooms are a reasonable size, the beds are comfortable and everything is kept nice and clean. Excellent breakfast, good location, friendly and helpful owner and staff. Good value for money. Highly recommended.
The owner of the Hostel was a very kind person, he treated us very well. The room very clean, the staff very friendly.The person in charge of the kitchen cooked delicious that's why the 2 days we had lunch at the hotel. Really very good experience. Recommended 100%
Gustavo and Andres are both awesome. It doesn’t feel like a hotel, more of a home and you are just hanging out with friends. Private room was a nice change from the typical bunk beds. Awesome vibe, overlooking the park.
Fine guesthouse run by a lovely couple from Argentina. It is located next to the main road, close to everything in small Olon. Rooms are clean and basic. Guests have access to a kitchen. The breakfast is superb.
The owner is very friendly and was kind enough to allow us to check in early as the room was not already in use. Great location very close to the beach and one of the cheaper accommodations available in Olon
