Hidden in the Amazonian Rainforest, Banana Lodge is a family-run B&B located directly on the tropical Misahualli Riverside, a 10-minute walk from the town center. Great accommodation, great breakfast, friendly owners. Perfect place to explore Misahualli and the surrounding area. Beautifully situated place right by the river, where you can relax and swim in pure nature.

It is situated 7 miles from Puerto Napo. hamadryade Lodge was the best place we could have wished for. Incredibly nice and stylish place but still so close and in harmony with nature. the hosts are super friendly and organise great tours for you. plus you definitively have to meet Martin, the cutest coati ever. :)
Located in Puerto Misahuallí, Hotel El Albergue Español provides free WiFi, and guests can enjoy a bar, a garden and a terrace. Theo was very welcoming and offered for the same price a night at the lodge in the jungle, which was great. We booked the activities for a reasonable price for 2 days, visiting chocolate making, amazoonico, caiman lagoon, night walk in the forest looking for trees and insects. we also visited a family , showing their way of life. Herman was an excellent guide! A lovely experience! The stay at the lodge was the highlight of our stay in Puerto Misahualli! Thank you Theo for your valuable help and time!
Located in Puerto Misahuallí, Misahualli Laguna Paikawe B&B features a bar and a garden. The property provides a 24-hour front desk, a shared kitchen and organizing tours for guests. It's a great place to see Amazon on the budget. Just few hundred meters from town, but set on the site of lagoon. You can watch animals from the patio.
Isla Ecologica Mariana Miller is located in Hacienda Chamanal and offers an on-site restaurant, free private parking and a shuttle service to and from Jumandy Airport, for an extra fee. The 3.5 hour hike through the jungle of Isla Ecológica Mariana Miller with Enrique. The delicious food prepared by Dina and the hospitality offered by Monica the manager. The internet they had was very good, the bed had a good matrass and the cabin was very comfortable. Taxidrive to the Isla from Tena is about $12. Monika can take you to the other side of the river of Puerto Misahuellí in 15 minutes from there you can whistle a boat to take you over the river. Isla Ecololiga is a great place because it has a mission: preserving nature. The cabins and restaurant are wheelchair accessible. Prices of food and drinks are very reasonable. In short: a great place to be and do nothing or be active.
Located in Puerto Misahuallí, MisaLodge provides accommodations with a year-round outdoor pool, free WiFi, a restaurant and a shared lounge. Some units include a seating area and/or a balcony. The rooms were clean and very comfortable, and the staff was amazing. They went over and beyond to help make our stay enjoyable. I highly recommend this Lodge to anyone visiting Misahualli. We had a fantastic time!!
With lake views, Ama Ecolodge is located in Puerto Misahuallí and has a restaurant and a 24-hour front desk. Both WiFi and private parking are available at the lodge free of charge. Warm welcome from the staff who made us feel at home and helped us out for our excursion to the rainforest
Be sure to take a late afternoon/early evening ride on the Napo River to appreciate the area and afterwards sample the local dish Maito de pescado- a whole river fish grilled in banana leaves served with lemon slices, a side of tomato and red onion salad, and plantains with a glass of local guayusa tea. We paid $5 for the complete meal including an added liter of cold beer.
Puerto Misahuallí has many different things to offer: if you feel adventurous, join one of the trips to the jungle and local communities. If you feel like relaxing, you can hang out at the beach. In any case you should try the local way of preparing chicken and fish: Maito. It is super delicious!
I actually live here and love the village of Misahuallí. I love dining at La Tasca and La Posada and walking along the path by el Rio Misahuallí to get to Runa Wasi where they serve refreshing guayusa tea in hand-crafted bowls and cups. The monkeys in the park are awesome to watch, but I wish that tourists wouldn’t feed them inappropriate foods.
Nice little Amazon town. Great for birdwatching. Laguna Paikawe canoe tour across bridge great experience, hoatzins awesome. El Jardin across bridge luxurious affordable dining experience - yummy coconut shrimps al fresco. Sandflies only downside, but manageable.
It’s a nice little town with plenty of restaurants for local food. We ate at Dona Gloria’s, viva Mexico, the pizza place, and the restaurant 2 doors down from Dona Gloria’s. All had good food. We were at Dona Gloria’s and the other one for lunch. For $3.50-$4 you get a large meal. The Mexican restaurant had excellent, freshly prepared food. Puerto Misahualli is small. Some shops, some mini markets. It has a nice beach area, and plenty of local outfitters for jungle/river tours. We took Runawa tours for a full day trek. We stopped for an indigenous exhibition of making string from plants and pottery. We had a jungle trek which was a bit tricky, no real pathway, stream crossings, slippery, climbing over logs. A real adventure! It also had tubing, a stop at The animal rescue centre, and a caiman lagoon. Lunch was provided. In town, there isn’t much to do unless you go to one of the adventure companies, but there are also shorter trips than the one we took. There is very little English spoken. Other than at the Mexican restaurant and at our lodge, we were pretty much communicating in Spanish.
Wow,so adorable, easy to walk in,nature galore,a river for canoe rides,a great monkey statue of capucin monkeys, great restaurants, easy vibe,if you like capucins, they walk right near you in town.. helpful locals, just a sweet town..easy to get to from tena.

Amazing setting in the heart of the jungle, the air, the noises and the view makes this place very unique. Great food at the restaurant (very expensive and really the only choice to have) Staff very attentive. Amazing interaction with the hotel animals (dogs, a little monkey, a coati and a parrot)
