Hotel in Altea
La Serena is a boutique hotel located in a quiet street in the historic center of Altea, 5 minutes from the sea and the main shopping area. This hotel is great in so many ways! It has the best of both worlds- doesn’t feel like a hotel in that it’s private, intimate, and beautifully designed, but has all the amenities of a hotel like a restaurant, bar, spa, etc. The breakfast was fantastic, pool area is gorgeous and in a typical Spanish elevated design, staff is beyond friendly and accommodating and the rooms are big, comfortable and well designed. And the bed is VERY comfortable. All around a great intimate experience with a stylish, beautiful setting in the heart of the old town!
Hotel in Altea
This charming, traditional-style hotel is located in the heart of the old town of Bellaguarda-Altea, just a 5-minute walk from the Costa Blanca seafront. Our stay was very pleasant. The location is great for exploring old town Altea. The room was small, but comfortable and the bathroom was roomy. We enjoyed a wonderful breakfast and found the staff to be exceptionally helpful and pleasant. A glass of cava on the rooftop after a day of hiking was perfect! We will definitely return to Hotel Abaco the next time we are in Altea.

Great place and now the Promenade has been totally renewed it is wonderful and lovely for walking on. Has a great church and so picturesque and well worth the walk up to it with all the quaint streets of the Old Town. Brilliant cafes and Bars and a very good choice and all tastes carered for.
Nothing wrong with Altea, it was lovely. Approximately 10 - 15 minutes walk from the hotel. No pavement for approximately half of that time which we considered quite dangerous as it was a very busy road. We chose Cap Negret Hotel on recommendation from people who have stayed there previously. This year they along with ourselves were very disappointed, this was due mainly to overcrowding in areas such as dining, entertainment and inside bar area.
Best: The combination of a lovely old town with beautiful old houses higher up and on the top of the town - and a newer modern town with restaurants of different styles and specialities and a lovely sea side with nice views and good possibilities for swimming and sun bathing in the summer. The town was also at the end of an enormous development of the sea side area worth approx. 4 billion Euros. Our favorite restaurant this time turned out to be Buena Vista at the sea side with a nice variety of good food and very good service people. We were also very happy with our choice of breakfast restaurant (English breakfast) on the other side of the town run by a French couple. It is also a very good area in the middle of the town near the town centre with a good shopping area - and with smaller restaurants and drop-in places.
Loved the town (historic, downtown, amenities near the beach). Not so crazy about the beaches which were visually very appealing, but nearly impossible to walk on due to the fact that they are not sandy, rather there are nice looking white rocks that make it very painful to walk on them without shoes, sandals, or wet shoes with rubber soles. The rocks are of a variety of sizes and it's difficult to walk, or even getting into and out of the water. It's painful to watch people to try to go into the water for a swim and watch their faces expressions. The promenade is the best way to enjoy the beautiful beach.
Beautiful cobbled village with great restaurants and views. Very artistic and had a superb Gargoyles tour with 30 street art installations. The QR code on the installations doesn't work however so get a leaflet/map from the tourist office. Old school!
Altea is like old Spain. It is charming quiet peaceful and beautiful. If you are after discos and English breakfasts, go to Benedorm. If you like wonderful vistas ancient cobbled streets. and nice restaurants, visit Altea. I can recommend Shabby Chic in the old town. Tucked down one of the small streets near the church. Its menu is a little different and the food is prepared and served with great care.
Altea
We stayed in this charming, dog-friendly apartment for four days in December. The place is clean and very tastefully decorated. We have all the amnesties we need to make simple dinner. We love all the Alice in wonderland paintings found in the house. The view is great and the awesome weather meant that we were able to really enjoy the balcony. Angeles is a great host, taking time to explain to us what to see/eat in and around Altea. Our son loves the place so much that he didn't want to leave.
Altea
Although it's a private home, there's privacy between the guest and visitor. We had our own toilet with towels (that smelled so good!), shampoo, shower gel, hair dryer, etc. In the room, there's portable air-con, coffee maker, fridge, iron, TV, ceiling fan, etc. The room is well-ventilated and well-lit. The area is quiet but not that far from the beach. The owner, Pilar, responded to my questions even before we arrived Altea. She even offered to fetch us at the bus station.
Beautiful boutique hotel with very tasteful, spacious rooms, super comfy beds, great clean pool area and right in the center of Altea's gorgeous old town. Dinner in the hotel restaurant was also fabulous. Not to mention a spectacular view from the top terrace over Altea, mountains, and the sea. Great for sunrise watching. I will definitely come back.
This place is a small juwel in Altea that should remain secret except for those who adore rest, authenticity and real hospitality. Everything is well thought of in this place. In the.middle of the old town, magnificent views and exceptional rooms. Just go there and indulge yourself!
Let's say it's a special place for better or for worse. It's not really a hotel (more like renting a room in a villa). It gives you a glimpse on how rich people live in one of those magnificent villas in Costa Blanca. The views are unique and the rooms are very nice.
Really nice boutique hotel. Very clean and really helpful and friendly staff. The hotel contacted us to let us know that we could go into our room early which was a really nice touch The bed was really comfortable we would go back to this hotel as it was really nice.
The flat is beautiful so well designed and stylish decor. we loved the central location. Shops and restaurants nearby. 5 minutes downhill to the pebble beach with its cafes and promenade. Then 10 minutes uphill to the top of Altea old town - stunning scenery.
Decor and facilities were beautiful. Fabulous breakfast with the best pancakes I’ve ever tasted. Steven and Martin were excellent hosts providing help and info when needed but also allowing guests their privacy and space.
fDifficult drive to Altea through endless polytunnels but heavenly hotel at the end beautiful inside and out, charming staff, excellent food. Would happily have done enforced quarantine there!

Nice, basic room. Hostel very close to the beach and old town. Heating, hot water, clean sheets, towels, clean bathroom - what else you need? Free water bottle in a room was a nice detail.
