We just arrived at Izal Landetxea, and it’s 4:36 am, but I couldn’t sleep without mentioning how incredibly clean this place is. It feels like the sheets your mother washes for you—everything is so fresh and spotless. Even in the darkness, we were amazed by the beauty of this villa, which is 40 minutes away from San Sebastián. The owner greeted us with a smile at 4 am, showed us to our room, and gave us the breakfast selection list for tomorrow. Before coming here, we were lost in San Sebastián not knowing where to book, but fate brought us to this beautiful villa, and I’m so glad we came. We took room no. 1, and it was spacious. I also want to mention that everything seems sustainable—even their soap and shampoo are 97% natural. The breakfast is amazing. They offered us homemade yogurt, homemade jam, granola, fresh fruits, and it was all delicious. They were very generous at checkout; they did not insist that we leave at twelve and kept us until two without asking about the checkout time or payment. When we arrived, he refused to take the payment because we arrived late, saying we could take care of it tomorrow. Extremely generous. Feels like family.

Morning coffee on the terrace overlooking the valley was very special. We had both lunches at the hotel restaurant and the food was excellent. A comfortable room with great views. But one of the best things were the staff. So friendly, helpful and happy even though it was obvious they were working very hard.

Friendly people and good places to eat just 20 meters from the hotel. You can't ask for more. I haven't been able to visit the town itself, but it has a lovely old town to explore and nearby attractions if you have a car.

It's the perfect town to be within an hour of any tourist...

It's the perfect town to be within an hour of any tourist destination, whether it's Bilbao, San Sebastián, Guernica, etc. A beautiful historic center and a diverse culinary scene. Definitely worth repeating.

Decor - very quirky. Rooms all different. Nice breakfast with freshly squeezed orange juice. Early checkin. Safe cycle storage. 2 doors away from very good restaurant - Sirimiri - excellent lunchtime meal. Bergara - lots of old buildings, fascinating museum about Wolframite and Enlightenment movement in Bergara (lots of hands-on features), not at all boring !
