The house: it is historical, fantastically beautiful, and kept in a superb condition. The room was amazing. We dined in a restaurant of the same building, and it was the best steak in our lives. Breakfast was very good too. Definitely would return, if we travel again in this area.

The location was convenient, there was a bus station near by and it only took 10 minutes by walk to the central plaza. The staff were super helpful. The room itself was clean with an effective AC system which allowed a very comfortable stay.

It is a medieval hilltop village in the middle of the Rioja...

It is a medieval hilltop village in the middle of the Rioja region. Very quaint. The views across all the vineyards are stunning and Vivanco Wine museum is very nearby. It’s fascinating and has been listed by UNESCO as the largest in Europe. The Santa Maria is a beautiful hotel with an excellent restaurant. Two days is enough to get the best out of Briones.

Lovely quaint town that instantly brought a sense of calmness, we couldn’t help but feel relaxed. The cafes and restaurants all had a great selection of pinxtos and we had a fantastic dinner in Asador los Nietos on one evening. Briones is a good place to base yourself to tour the wineries but there are also plenty of bodegas in the town, we happened to arrive when a festival was taking place and visited 5 bodegas each with their own tasting seminar. There was live music in the square that evening also and a great buzz about the place. The locals were all friendly and welcoming despite our Spanish not being very good!

attractive renovation of 200 year old stone building. sitting room and breakfast dining room. fruit, ham, cheese, fresh orange juice with coffee. Briones is a wine centre and traditional Rioja town excellent for exploring the region.

A beautiful contemporary hotel set within the old town wall and in a stunning location. Our room was beautiful. The staff were fabulous, so very warm and welcoming and extremely helpful. Food was excellent, a truly brilliant chef.

The hotel is well located, very comfortable and right in the middle of the pueblo/town. The restaurante had delicious food but there weren't many options for picky eaters (e.g. kids). Friendly staff.
