Unique style, pleasant services with very uncommon way of communication. A place with soul and historyn, rather being received as a luxury old house than hotel. Great breakfast, and kitchen for guests with all appliances.
A small, very walkable town. Great views from the town walls across the region. Huge amount of history (5000 years of continuous habitation) and a truly excellent town museum that makes sense of that history.
The Roman cemetery is astonishing both for its scale and its quality - and is free to visit.
We stayed in the town on a Friday evening and were disappointed by the lack of night-life bars/cafes/bistros, although this may just be because we were there on a cold April day.

Recommend walking tour that includes old town, the Puertas, parador (just for the views) and necropolis. Also a great town for just wandering - it's not too big so you can't get lost, but plenty to see.
Lots of free parking, try to the right of the Puerta de Sevilla. There's usually someone who'll direct you to a space (give him a euro!). A really friendly town - everyone will smile back at you.
Lots of good restaurants and bars. Best is Cervecería San Fernando - if you fancy a special meal with excellent service, go upstairs and sit in the window. Amazing food, about €60 for two - salad, artichokes with ham & Pedro Ximénez, revuelto with langostinos and ham, two desserts, wine and coffee (too much really but it was a special treat!). Excellent service. Doesn't look special from the street, but definitely worth it.
Restaurante de Paco near the Puerta de Sevilla has excellent breakfast of Mollete with tomato and oil, good coffee and fresh orange juice for €5.60.
El Tablao in the main square (San Fernando) is great for people watching and relaxing with delicious cheese and a glass of wine.
The ice cream place on the main square is also worth trying if you have a sweet tooth.
Recommend walking tour to include old centre, parador (just for the view), gates and necropolis/amphitheatre.
Amazing experience during Semana Santa with procession every evening and fantastic atmosphere. Whole town seems to come out into the streets.

A delightful old city with lovely buildings in the historic centre. It is set on a hill overlooking the plain and has been an important centre since the neolithic period. It was a Carthaginian centre in the millenium before the current era, then a Roman city, then settled by the Visigoths, before becoming the centre of an Arab kingdom and finally being the favourite city of Pedro the Cruel in the 14th century. Pedro also known as the Just built his palace one the site of the Arab Alcazar. It has a very well organised and laid out museum with very good clear labelling in Spanish and English. We found an excellent restaurant La Yedra a stone's throw from the Parador.

We wanted to check out a small town en route to Jerez and Carmona had a good reputation for food. Unfortunately it didn't live up to our expectations. It's small, and almost eerily quiet at night. The walk from the main plaza to the parador is quite dark, so something to keep in mind. We also went in October and a lot of places seemed to close up for the winter so our options were limited. We did find a very good bar for dinner, so that was a highlight. We visited the necropolis which was fascinating, but the amphitheatre was closed so we couldn't visit that. For one day/night, it was an interesting stop, but I wouldn't recommend staying any longer.

Carmona is a small historic town right near Sevilla and we picked it because it was close to the airport for the end of our trip. There are some very interesting historical sites to see such as the Roman Necropolis and theatre and some churches and the Old Jewish neighborhood where we stayed. It was a perfect end to our trip.
The apartment is comfortable, clean and spacious, and is in a good central location in Carmona. Francisco was a thoughtful host who communicated well. We appreciated the helpful items in the kitchen such as plenty of dishwasher tablets, coffee etc.
Good location between Sevilla and Carmona right at the highway. Facilities and decor are nice. Breakfast option and restaurant in house. Owners do not speak English, but supported via WhatsApp on written. Free enclosed parking available.
