Featuring solar panels and well water Mas de Salin farm house is located next to the river Siurana and 1.9 mi from Arboli. A breakfast buffet of local products is available. The views are amazing. The food is awesome and the hosts are wonderful people.
Set in Arboli, L'Hostalet features a bar and a terrace. The guest house has family rooms. At the guest house all rooms are equipped with a private bathroom. The staff was exceptional and went out of their way to make sure we had the best possible experience. A level of service extremely rare nowadays. The restaurant was so good we had 6 meals there and were offered to have the food adapted to our wants/needs. Just spectacular. Breakfast was great. The place was spotless. I was told that the goal of the hotel is to serve and accommodate patrons the way they (the hotel staff themselves) would want to be hosted. We felt this the whole time. Looking forward to next time we can go back.
Located in Cornudella, 24 mi from Cambrils, Ca La Paletes provides a restaurant and free WiFi. Each unit is fully fitted with a washing machine, a cable flat-screen TV, a sofa and wardrobe. Easy and flexible check in! We were welcomed with a bottle of red wine. The apartment was perfect, as per the pictures. Spacious, clean and with a fully equipped kitchen. I would highly recommend it! Pere, the owner was really nice and attentive.
Cultural heritage site, with ruins of the castle that was one of the last bastions of the Arabs when it fell to Ramon Berenguer IV. The resident population is 30 but during the day large numbers of day-trippers arrive to enjoy the scenery. Access is by way of a windy and difficult road, so do not expect to move easily from place to place. The scenery is stunningly beautiful and there is great scope for walking and hiking but best to come prepared.
Worth the effort to wind your way up to this quaint little town perched high in the hills of the Priorat. Especially if you enjoy driving steep narrow roads with hairpin turns and switchbacks. I visit the Priorat for the wine, olive oil and bread. While not a wine town per se, Siurana is close by and should be visited for the spectacular views from this ancient stone village.
This is a beautiful part of Spain that is worthy of a long weekend of exploration, both physically and gastronomically. The scenery is spectacular, wear sensible walking boots. The restaurants are tremendously local, fresh and hearty food, local wines and beers. If you enjoy the outside and associated activities, including great food, then put Siurana No1 on your places to visit.
A beautiful medieval village high on the cliffs. Glorious scenery and a wide variety of walking trails. No cars allowed, lovely cobbled streets and stone houses. A photograpgher's dream. No shops, which adds to Siurana's charms, but several eating options.
Well hidden jewel in the mountains! Small picturesque village on the top of a cliff deep in the mountains north-west of Tarragona, Spain. We rented a car and went by C-242 to Cornudella de Montsant, then last 8 km by narrow mountain road to the top of a mountain range where the village is located. Breathtaking views of the valley below and well beyond. Stayed one night at lovely small hotel La Siuranella. Enjoyed magnificent views and glorious sunset.
Amazing location! For outstanding gourmet food, go to the hotel. For views, have a beer & pizza at the pizza restaurant on the cliff. For a glass of wine & a charming garden location go to the restaurant in the little square. There's another restaurant but go mid-day since it's closed in the evening. If you are afraid of heights or driving narrow roads, this place is not for you. For the adventurous: outstanding hiking & day trips to nearby villages, vineyards, monasteries, & more. A car is a must to get around.
