Wonderful location! Beautiful place for a 4 day hiking trip in the mountains! Very well equipped with just about everything you need (except for food). Nice, simple decor, extra bedding, comfortable beds and overall spacious. I would definitely recommend it for a nice get-away, and so easy to take the train from Malaga. The heaters worked great and kept it cozy during the cold November nights. There are a few cafes and bars, then the kiosks for the Caminito del Rey crowds, which can easily be avoided. So many wonderful hikes in the area, and, of course, climbing sites. Bring your own food or be very careful to check the hours of the local cafes/bars! The only store has unpredictable hours and minimal options. The bottle of wine and olives were a special addition! The owner was very responsive.

Far enough from town to be quiet, but close enough to easily walk into town. Place had a very rustic, homey feeling. Felt very comfortable here. We were given very detailed directions, make sure you pay attention to the videos you get sent.

Located literally right act Ross the street from a climbing area, and close by to many other crags. We had the whole apartment to ourselves with plants of space for our family of four. An open living area and a kitchen for ordering breakfast, best breakfast we had on the whole trip! Coffee, wine and snacks available for purchase onsite. The owners and staff were amazing, above and beyond about making us feel welcome and comfortable. It’s set in the mountains with a quiet relaxing feel that was just what we needed. I highly recommend this spot for climbers or anyone looking to get away and relax in a peaceful mountain setting.

Loved almost everything about this newly opened hotel. The biggest challenge is getting to it, as it is located at the top of town, so there are some very narrow streets (one corner in particular) you need to carefully navigate to get to it. Also know that there is currently no signage saying you are at the front door of the hotel - it looks like just another residence. However once you've arrived, all is good! Staff is excellent, super comfortable bedding, nice large rooms, and the huge jetted tubs in every room are just amazing. I'd definitely stay here again!!

this area also has lots of hiking and mountain biking. so you could stay for 2 nights and have stuff to do.. or just relax. there is not town. just this hotel. and a train from Malaga.. which stops many times a day. PS that would be a great way to get there!

Easy to get the train to El Chorro - I actually missed the...

Easy to get the train to El Chorro - I actually missed the stop as I was looking at google maps and the tunnels delayed reception! LOL The views from my accommodation were amazing. Both on sunny days and when the clouds came down with rain. The hotel and train station were very close to my accommodation - but (note to self!) travel light. the roads and stairs do not make for easy movement of big cases! El Chorro is a magical place.

There is not much in El Chorro, other than Caminito Del Rey...

There is not much in El Chorro, other than Caminito Del Rey but that is worth it for sure. We've had a guided tour and we enjoyed it thoroughly. We could have spent a few more hours there enjoying that place. Unfortunately, we had a train to catch. I'd recommend doing it twice: once with a guided tour and after that doing it in your own pace, taking your time.

There isn't anything to do in El Chorro, apart from our...

There isn't anything to do in El Chorro, apart from our excellent hotel, there is one other small bar next to the train station and a super market which is a very small shop that sells very little. The train station is unmanned and our experiences with the trains in Spain you could write a comedy series on it, with tickets you booked online not arriving or cancelled the last 4 trains and costing 80 Euros for a taxi to get back to the hotel. Or 40 minutes late,meaning you missed your connection and then had a wait of 4 hours or return to El Chorro.

Great start point for the Caminito del rey - shuttle buses...

Great start point for the Caminito del rey - shuttle buses will take you to the trail head leading to the Caminito del Rey access point. Caminito del Rey ends 2 km away from el Chorrro. There are a couple of other interesting walking trails starting in el Chorro. Parking can be a problem.

We booked room based on photos but got something very different. Room given wasn't suitable for us but for a younger modern couple. The stairs were too narrow no sofa . Lighting too bright and exposed for us. It has it good points with views and using for overnight stay is good but not for a week stay. The walk around was lovely and recommended. Guided tour stats at 9.30 and well worth it. No outside eating places just the restaurant. This hotel wasn't for us but is suitable for backpackers.

place had everything we needed for a week stay climbing in the area. was spotless, had microwave, oven, nice outdoor area and a BBQ station! it is a fairly long drive down a bumpy road so I think it would be quite a walk without a car. would definitely stay again! lovely views

Spectacular location! The house is great, especially the large living room and the swimming pool area. We used the house as a base for Caminito del Rey, Ronda, and rock climbing in El Chorro area, and it served the purpose perfectly.

Very well equipped and authentic old spanish guesthouse. The surrounding garden and pool area is lovely. Ela is a very kind and professional host. Many climbing crags are within walking distance. Perfect!
