Nice and cozy room, very clean and tidy. The bed is comfortable and good. Our host was amazing, very helpful, and responsive. She responded to our messages very quickly. Finding the room was straightforward. Bus station is near to the building. Town central area, shops and supermarkets are few mins away (of walking)
Villa Almagre is located in Gáldar, just 25 miles from Parque de Santa Catalina and 10 miles from Cueva Pintada Museum. Featuring mountain and garden views, this villa also includes free Wifi.
Gáldar is a more traditional town to stay in. The streets are tight like an old Spanish town should be. The center square is busiest in late morning and early evening. The square has many restaurants to try for Spanish/Canarian traditional fare. The location is easy access to the main road to other locations on the island. The best part is not being a tourist location where there are too many people. One suggestion is to touch up on your Spanish before going because there are fewer multi-lingual speakers in this town.
We would go again to this town.

A very nice little town at the north-western part of the island, close to the sea and quite far form the touristic crowds. Very beautiful nature, close to astonishing nature park. Perfect place for people who prefer nature and culture.

Galdar is the old capital of Gran Canaria.
Galdar is the old capital of Gran Canaria. It has beautiful historic buildings and a lovely, relaxed atmosphere away from the main tourist sights. The main reason we wanted to stay in this part of the island was the see the archeological excavations revealing the original dwellings and the famous cave painting. The museum/site is modern and the guided tour is well worth booking.

Worth visiting. The former capital of the island.
Worth visiting. The former capital of the island. Santiago Apóstol Church, market square, town hall with a charming theater hall (!). Archaeological Museum, which is basically the archaeological site of Cueva Pintada. Ha, ha... and the cherry on the cake. Those traveling by car will find the parking lot by entering "Aparcamiento La Quinta" in the navigation system.

Galdar is a pleasant little town, with a nice historic center. About 2.5 km from El Agujero, which is quite a tolerable walk among banana plantations in good weather, but it is better to go there by car.

40 minutes drive from Airport and 25 mins from Las Canteras and 10 minutes from Agaete with all its restaurants and supermarket facilities.
Beautiful coastal road with stunning sunsets and dramatic sea views from the apartment. Views of Santa Cruz and Mount Teide from the balcony are wonderful.

The view from the window was amazing! Seeing and hearing ocean waves while sitting on the coach was the best meditation). Kitchen was fully equipped, so we could cook at home everything we wanted. Bedrooms (3 of them) were spacious and more than enough for 4 of us. The nearest (and most popular in Galdar) beach was just 5 min of walk. The house is relatively far from the city centre which was good for our calm and peaceful staying, but it’s better to rent a car if there are some plans to see around.
This was probably the best holiday house experience. Spacious house with a beautiful private garden and a lovely pool. The host Nicolas was always available, provided lots of tips what to do in Gran Canaria. Galdar town center is just a few walk minutes away and the closest beach less than 10 min drive. The wifi connection is good for working as well as plenty of parking space in front of the house.
Very friendly and flexible host. There is free parking available, e.g. at the main road across the police station, watch out for white road markings.
Galdar is a small but not sleepy village with everything you need in reach. It's a 30 min walk / 5 min drive to the closest beach but it's also worth checking out the other beaches around Galdar.
The house is fully equipped.
Excellent location, right in the centre of Galdar next to the church where I finished hiking the Camino de Santiago across the island. The hotel is beautiful and my room was nicely decorated and very comfortable. The bathroom was lovely with a big powerful walk-in shower. Breakfast was a continental platter which was substantial, varied and delicious.
The apartment was beautiful and marvellous. you’ll have everything for your stay and the beds were comfortable. It’s close to Galdar centre. Gabriel and his family took so good care of us. The family have a Pizzeria close to the apartment with very good food and good prices❤️
