This place was absolutely magic and quite easily our favorite stay during our entire Andaluzia trip. We booked the place blindly as a place to sleep over on our trip to Ronda and the Genalguacil village blew our mind. The road here drom Estepona is absolutely enchanting, with breathtaking views and scenery. The village itself is an absolute hidden treasure - small and cozy with beautiful street art, amazing scenery around and absolutely mindblowing sunset. The place was very cozy and easy to find. The owners were a very pleasurable couple, who made us dinner and breakfast - we literally felt like we are on a family visit in relatives dining room. They also spoke decent english. The place and the hostel were a very welcome break from the tourist ridden Costa Del Sol. Absolutely recommended.

Allow extra time on your journey for winding roads and landslips but once you arrive the village it is lovely. Artwork and street art has something for everyone. Easy free parking by the museum. Great trekking if you're fit, through chestnut forests and cork forests Visiting out of season there was only one restaurant open but the menu had good daily options. Breakfast opening times were a little random. The Coviran shop stocked most things but top tip: buy things when you see them... by Friday they had run out of bread and eggs

Genalguacil is renowned as an open-air art gallery, with...

Genalguacil is renowned as an open-air art gallery, with sculptures, statues, mosaics and paintings on every corner and in every square. It is also a very pretty place, with the streets full of flowers, and fantastic views. It is well worth a visit. And the drive up from Estepona offers some spectacular views of the coast.

This is a fantastic place to get away from it all.

This is a fantastic place to get away from it all. A quaint village that boasts to be one of the most beautiful in Andalucia. 2 Superb hill side restaurants with lovely outdoor terraces. You park in the main car park and walk into the village which is small so not far to go with luggage. Everything really quaint with artistic sculptures and statues everywhere. This is a big centre of art and culture so very popular with tourists. Large art museum there. Definitely worth a visit.

A lovely quiet little village, not far from Ronda and...

A lovely quiet little village, not far from Ronda and Estepona. Lots of artwork, sculptures, incredible creations. Surrounded by chestnuts and oaks with great hiking opportunities. We walked to Jubrique and back through the woodlands. A great place to stay for a couple of nights away from it all.

Spotlessly clean guest house in the beautiful art town of Genalguacil. La Posada del Recovero is a treasure! Air conditioned room with silent ceiling fan, power shower, and the ever attentive Manager Gloria who was very responsive on WhatsApp and so helpful. Amazing and very comfortable stay in the height of summer. The town carpark is very close to the hotel, which is near the beautiful plaza with it’s white church and stunning views over The Valley. Highly recommended!

We wanted to stay overnight as Genalguacil is over two hours from where we were staying and we wanted plenty of time to explore and see all the art on display around the place. So finding this little hotel right in the middle of the pueblo was perfect. The room and bathroom were well equipped, the bed very comfortable, dinner and breakfast tasty. And Veroníca was an excellent host - friendly and full of advice.

The views of Genalguacil from the rooms were spectacular. The accommodation was equipped with pretty much everything we needed. The bed was very comfy. We wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.
