Guaro is fantastic!
Guaro is fantastic!! All so relaxed and typical chilled out vibe, you'd expect in Spain.. Leave your car at the bottom of the village and walk through.. See all the people out at their doorsteps, or the neighbours doorstep or just wandering and socialising... There are super walking routes out into the mountains, a choice for all abilties.. Beautiful scenery and lots of wildlife, birds, boars, weasels, turtles, foxes and lots more.. There are only a few bars that serve main meals (Bodega, Arao or Lord Cani) But the village is full of typical Spanish bars they all serve tapas that are lovely and super cheap! The Pena Flamenca opens at 7pm and is a fantastic night of fun!! The staff are really friendly, relaxed, welcoming and polite (the lady is Irish and her husband is from the village.. a great combination of relaxedness!!) People of all ages are there mixed together. If you're lucky you'll catch a singsong, respect called for the singer (i.e listen to them!!) There is a market on a Thursday from about 10-1.30ish!! Lots of fiestas and festivals through out the year! The Ayuntamiento (town hall) has a calender of events available (in their office, on their webpage or facebook!!) Such a difference from the madness of the Costa del Sol, but only a half a hour away!!!
