Beautiful picturesque place , places to see & things to do, nice food, nice people, la Caleta beach is not for the faint of heart, up a risky mountain , we turned around half way , as still had an up hill climb and the a decent to the beach , I found it a bit scary. Lol

Hermigua is a great base to visit other towns and villages in the north of La Gomera and also Garajonay National Park. There is a good selection of local bars/cafes and a handful of restaurants too. I particularly enjoyed the food in Bar Mariela and Cafe Gara, and also enjoyed the more local bar feel and watching sport in Cafe Don Juan.

Hermigua is an small, valley town in the north-east of La Gomera. The restaurants in the town were quite good and the atmosphere was quiet and low-key. The chief tourist destination is the local pescante, a ruin from a previous shipping industry that includes a natural, seawater swimming pool. The pool can be dangerous at high tide, but safe and delightful at low tide. The only downside of Hermigua was access to the national part and southwest side of the island was not easy; we drove for 45min - 60min each day to access other parts of the island.

Hermigua is a very elongated village with everything you need. There are a few restaurants and small supermarkets. It is located in a valley that is very green all year round. Down in the valley is a banana plantation and an aloe vera farm. There is no attractive beach. There are many hiking trails that start in Hermigua, many of them on steep paths into the mountains.

Hetmigua is a great place to stay if you like walking.

Hetmigua is a great place to stay if you like walking. There is a variety of accommodation available, many bars and a few good restaurants to frequent. it is quietier than Valle Gran Rey but just as stunning. The local people are very friendly. We wished we stayed for longer.

Terraced village in steep ravine. Dramatic looking village.

Terraced village in steep ravine. Dramatic looking village. Picturesque. Obliging little restaurants. The beach is just a seafront: rather scary; large rocks, and surf.. I really wouldn't want to swim there and I grew up swimming on an Atlantic surf beach in Ireland. To be honest: a 10 minute stop covers the essentials.

    - Super helpful and friendly staff - Beautiful view and location at the top of Hermigua. You’re on the main road but it doesn’t feel like that at all once in the room, it feels like in the middle of nature, overlooking mountains and a banana grove. - the room, bathroom and little kitchen area are nice and well appointed - Great and hearty breakfast, served to your room, with little changes every day - lots of character (especially the original houses, where the pool/garden are located, that place is incredible)

We were pleasantly surprised with the Telares. Room and kitchen were simple but very adequate and we adored the view. The common room/lounge was lovely and a great place to relax. Same for the pool! There were nearby restaurants and a grocery store a short walk away. The upper part of Hermigua is more dramatic than down the road and it was close to the Barranca de Cedro (a steep hike). Environmentaly consciousness waste system with recycling containers at the end of the hall and a left-over food supplies exchange.

Gorgeous villa set on a quiet road on the other side of the valley from Hermigua. Very quiet, very private with a nice garden and sitting out area and great views up the valley. Extremely well equipped, so much so that we cooked and ate in every night. Useful information provided in a folder and also by WhatsApp from the host who was helpful, friendly and responsive. Good hot water (solar heated), comfortable bedroom and very comfortable living room. Really good walks on this part of the island too.

It was paradise! I don't think we picked our room when we booked, but we ended up with a huge room and a massive terrace overlooking a valley. The location was nice — the hotel itself feels remote (we could see the stars well from the terrace at night), but the center of town is a 10-ish-minute walk away and there's a store for essentials as well as a handful of restaurants (we went to two, and both were great). Would recommend!

I could never get tired of the view from the terrace! Stunning Hermigua valley views all the way to the natural pool & the ocean. The terrace is very spacious and well equipped with two sunbeds, a table, and an umbrella. The apartment had everything we need and the wifi connection was decent. It's 30 minutes by car from Alto Garajunay if you plan on hiking. Overall we had a very relaxing stay!

The location is amazing, and so are the hosts. The view and the sunrises are something to experience. We've seen most of La Gomera and without a doubt we would choose to stay at Casa Luz again. Hermigua is a great village, with good places to eat, and a nice bathing area. The island is small enough that with a car you can see all of it without any issues sleeping there.

Room with terrace was lovely. Mixture of old and new has been done very tastefully. The restaurant is excellent, tasting menu was delicious and the local beer and wines. The staff and service in the restaurant is what you would expect to find in a 5 star hotel. Well done to Hector and the young ladies.

Location at the start/end of two major walking routes on the island. Good suggestions for other circular walks. There is a nearby supermarket for self-catering. The property had a courtyard and was very peaceful to relax in after a day's hiking. Hermigua was a perfect location.
