Free Wi-Fi and free private parking are offered at the Hotel Eguren Ugarte. This design hotel is surrounded by 130 hectares of vineyards and fields in Alaves, in La Rioja. Spectacular, unique experience! Beautiful lication, interesting tour and very educational! Even met the owner of the vineyard, Don Vitorino! Charming! The facilities are. gorgeous. Saw a destination wedding take place. Rooms comfortable, and the bathroom is amazing with very modern massage showers from all sides of the shower stall. Delicious gourmet dinner. This is a very very special place to go as a couple, to connect with nature and slow down your pace. Highly recommended.
The historic Hospederia de los Parajes has its own spa center with hammam, hot tub and wine therapy. There is free Wi-Fi access and stylish design throughout. Loved it!!! Such a cute, quiet village. Rooms were luxurious! Staff was wonderful!!
Located in the medieval town of Laguardia, Hotel Sercotel Villa de Laguardia is close to important vineyards. The hotel features an outdoor swimming pool, a wine and oil spa, and free Wi-Fi access. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Beds were quite comfortable.
Nestled in the beautiful Basque countryside, this enchanting castle has been converted into a charming boutique hotel with a pleasant restaurant and a tower overlooking the surrounding vineyards. Wow, we stayed in a castle within a walled city! Maria was wonderful, check in was smooth and she was very helpful and knowledgeable. She even helped us get reservations for a wine cellar tour and tasting. The room was huge, lots of room with a comfortable sitting room off to the side. The city was really neat and you could feel the history. Some of the existing city was built in the 11th century. Great place.
Set among 300-year old vineyards in the La Rioja-Alavesa region, Posada Mayor de Migueloa is housed in a 17th-century Baroque mansion, Palacio de Viana.
The hotel, situated opposite the Laguardia medieval city walls, boasts fantastic views of the Ebro valley and the surrounding vineyards. Location was great! The view was breathtaking, fantastic from your own balcony. The breakfast was good, typical Spanish breakfast. People were very nice and spoke English. Parking can be challenging since LaGuardia is a medieval village. We will stay here again on our next visit to La Rioja/Basque Country.

Good location to check out the wine regions surrounding the town. The old town itself is scenic and interesting to walk around. You'll find all the shops you need for whatever you need to picnic or have a glass of wine, coffee or meal.
The main activity in the area is visiting wineries. But we also enjoyed stopping in at a museum devoted to an archeological find nearby. We ate at the hotel and also in the nearby hamlet of Pagano, at Hector Oribe (lunch only). Excellent.
Getting there with luggage was a challenge. Walk to hotel and ask for assistance. The lamb dinner we had was marginal. Staff fairly friendly and accommodating. Staying in this hotel for 3 nights was just enough time to visit 4 Recommended wineries in La Rioja
This is a small town, perfect for our last 2 days of a ten day trip through Spain. There are several small restaurants and lots of Rioja, of course. We are American and didn't run into any other English speakers during our trip. We survived on our basic Spanish and pantomime to get by. The cathedral is amazing. The wine tours within the walls of the town are in Spanish. We didn't get a chance to check out any of the tours outside of the city walls. We are at La Parerra (sp?) in the town square by the clock. The food is amazing. I recommend the steak baked in clay with goat cheese. Don't miss the underground area of this restaurant/hotel. We stayed at the Castillo Collado which is the castle in the city. It was absolutely lovely with wonderful views and within a short walk to everything. We didn't bring kids, but saw several families with small children. When we first arrived, we spoke to an older local gentleman who told us, "There are no bad people here. Everyone is good." We found that to be very true.
Laguardia is one of my favorite places I have ever visited. The scenery, food, wine and people were incredible. The hike through nature trails and around the Vineyards and three lakes(12km) was probably my favorite, because then we got to drink a bottle of wine and eat Pinxos! It was a wonderful experience. The city is clean and ancient at the same time. There are several wineries(Bodegas) in Laguardia where you can sample and purchase excellent wine at a great price.
Small, walled town, which was quaint. I wouldn't stay in the town of Laguardia, but stay at one of the nearby bodega hotels and come into the town for a day. It's small, walkable (no cars allowed) and is fun to spend a couple hours just walking around.

Our hostess, who spoke no English, was nevertheless kind and welcoming. She even provided us a tour of the large, very old wine cellar beneath Mayo 35. The hotel is centrally located in this small, hilltop pueblo and very convenient. Our room was very comfortable and, like the entire hotel, was spotless, despite being in a centuries old building. Coffee and pastries are available in the common room, as is free wi-fi. This was our favorite stop in the Basque region and in La Rioja.

This hotel had the feeling it had been there forever - sweet, old-fashion and traditional. The best thing about it was the spectacular 180° view from the enormous private balcony off our bedroom. Taking a shower in the morning with the huge bathroom window wide open, sun streaming in and views of miles of vineyards will not soon be forgotten! Granted, the facilities were a tad shabby, and the breakfast was only fair, but the atmosphere was lovely and the views worth the price!

Panoramic view of the Rioja wine region, beautiful grounds, delicious gourmet meal served by friendly, helpful Chris from Holland and a perfect location amid the vineyards and mountains. The hotel is family owned and was lovingly created as a homage to that family. It is just stunning in every detail.
