Surrounded by farmland, this characteristic Galician house is located on the Camino de Santiago. It offers modern apartments with free Wi-Fi. The center of Santiago is less than 6.2 mi away. Very kind host and the dinner was excellent. The room was a good size with a seating area as well as a seating area just outside of the room which was very nice. Very close to walk into Santiago de Compostela the next morning. Plenty of time before the mass at 12 pm.
Located in the heart of the Santiago region, 4.3 mi from the city, this traditional-style house offers elegant accommodations amid beautiful natural surroundings. Little bit off the Camino but the manager picked us up he was so friendly and nothing was too much trouble The gardens were lovely and we could relax with a nice cold beer Dinner was superb 10/10 for the chef and the wines were really good quality Family owned and they take pride in their hotel, the best I stayed in on my Camino
Casa JyM Fontela 24 is located in O Pedrouzo and offers a garden, barbecue facilities and a terrace. The vacation home has garden views and is 30 miles from Santa Cruz de Oleiros. We liked the kitchen as well as the game room in this house. The owner, Jose, came to meet us at the house and give us the keys. The size of this house was very nice and the bathrooms and bedrooms had plenty of room.
It was the type of town that had lots of local color. You felt like an "outsider" walking in. If you like that feeling, this is your place. The food and drinks and service were good. Our pension felt very sterile, like checking into the hospital ward and the only food spot open was the "locals" bar across the street. I would rather have stopped for a beer and soup then continue on. It rained a lot so we stayed inside. We would have enjoyed it more if we felt more comfortable and welcome there.
In Lavacolla you need to remember this is the gateway to rural Spain and the last leg of the Camino de Santiago. From the Ruta Jacobea you can take yourself on nature walks to nearby villages and take in the views.
We loved spending our final night on the Camino just outside of Lavacolla. Being approx 10kms from Santiago, meant we got a relaxed start in the morning. We felt spoilt and we'll looked after with a quiet room, a bath (so, so relaxing!) a fabulously comfortable bed and dinner on site. Taking the Vilamaior road to rejoin the trail meant we didn't need to backtrack into Lavacolla.
We walked the Camino through Lavacolla. A Concha was very close to the Camino. It is right above a restaurant. The staff let me know where to find laundry facilities. The staff was pleasant.
It was available with a few eating options relatively close to the hotel. The restaurant in the hotel itself was, at best, so so.
We were flying out very early after a long hike on the Camino. The early morning hotel shuttle was very helpful.
Clean and on Camino. Good restaurant in the hotel next door
