While not primarily a tourist town, Pontedeume is on the...
While not primarily a tourist town, Pontedeume is on the Camino Ingles and has lots of through hikers. We found it to be a prosperous and typical Galician town, in pretty valley overlooking the tidal Rio Eume, and used it as a base of operations for exploring the nearby Rias Atlas and Fragas do Eume, for which it was perfect, and a more quaint setting than larger A Coruña or Ferrol.

Loved the location of Hotel Eumesa just at the end of the bridge. We were walking the Camino Ingles so seeing the hotel after a long days walk was very welcome, and having its location right on the track was a winner. Our room was very spacious and bright. An added bonus was having the main bus stop right outside the hotel which allowed us to take side trips here and there. Plenty of cafes, restaurants and supermarkets within a short walk. Tino's Cafe and Bar is within the same building.

There was a restaurant attached to the hotel. The place was clean, a kilometer away from the Santiago de Compostela walk from the town of Pontedeume, but you can also get to the route no problem without backtracking to Pontedeume.
The staff were friendly, esp the lady who checked us in. She was very informative and made sure we got back on the SC route the morning we left.

Hotel manager was lovely. He helped us out after some issues with booking.com but still accommodated us organizing with a neighboring hotel. Breakfast was perfect.

This hotel is in a great location - close to a main square with lots of lovely bars & an ice cream cafe. It’s clean and perfect for any person on the Camino!
