The staff were really lovely, the hotel and room was immaculate and such a beautiful property. The breakfast was also very tasty and good quality.

Hostal Masin is located on Isla de Tabarca, a protected Marine Reserve 20 km from the coastline of Alicante. Location was perfect. Hosts were perfect. Breakfast was (almost) perfect - but I'm sure if I had asked for a bacon sandwich they would have rustled something up!
Featuring a balcony with sea views, a garden and barbecue facilities, Auténtica Casa Mediterránea con vistas al mar can be found in Santa Pola, close to Varadero and 2.6 km from Levante Beach. Good location. Near bus stop to supermarket and 2 very good restaurants. You do need to check the bus timetable and restaurant opening times. OK view of sea from main terrace. Good sunshades at all levels. From the bedroom balcony one level up you get a very good view of the sea and Tabarca island as you can see over the building in front of the property. A park with a small childrens playground is just below the property, accessed by a path immediately next to the property, that leads to the seafront and propenade. It is about a 15 minute walk west to a very good sandy beach (has lifeguard in high season; not in late October). Good selection of books in Spanish. Also childrens books and toys. Key collection and checkout was smooth.
Just a lovely island with history. If you are going for a beach day take swimming shoes as it is very rocky and slippery. Lovely bar in the square which we really enjoyed. Not to many restuarants open on a night.
Beautiful simple island, no fuss, All rules kept regarding COVID Loved the walk around the Island. Found a lovely restaurant, with a Pirate 🏴☠️ out front. A lot of restaurants were closed for evening meal, we presumed this was due to COVID restrictions.
Unfortunately the covid crisis has hit the island , was very quiet and finding something to eat is a challenge after 6 clock , also is expensive to eat and drink. I totally understand that the island has everything brought in on boat but 8.50e for a beer and a small tonic water is steep ! My last visit was 3 years ago and the cost of the return ticket had increased 50% . 10e to 15e. Still if you go for the day and take comfy chairs and some refreshments, which you see others do , it is a good day out . There is a beach area and small sandy coves to stay all day.
If you want to chill, switch off, get back to nature...then this is the place for you. I wouldnt go in peak times personally, October is fabulous. The snorkeling is amazing! The fish are friendly and huge!!!! I feel it is a bit of a rip off, but that’s to be expected as it’s an island! So just be sensible! Also I feel that they should do more about cleaning up the place after the tourists have left for the day and maybe make it clear that they should take their rubbish with them!!! More signs not to litter, look after the environment etc. the cats are also a problem near the restaurants. If you like cats, this is the island for you!!!! All in all, I love Tabarca and I want it to remain the beautiful island that it is!!! Keep the oceans clean and take your plastic home with you! ps...I cleaned the entire beach shoreline this morning....it took me 25 mins to collect a small bag of plastic waste. Why don’t the islanders do the same??? The sunbed guy? He could get off his butt and do that every morning??!
Great when the day trippers leave the island - not too many places to eat but that’s part of the charm - it is more expensive than the rest of Spain probably because everything is brought in to the island - 1 coffee + 1 Coke Zero no glass =€5.50
The island is much as it was a couple of centuries ago with around 300 residents. It is so easy to walk around viewing nature and wildlife, rugged cliffs and exciting shorelines. Small beach with adequate sunbeds with shade. Beach pebbles. Sea crystal clear with great snorkeling, you can see shoals of fish just swimming around you without a snorkel. A Great place to return in different seasons.
The hotel was in a perfect location in the heart of little bars, cobble streets and with excellent sea views. The owner, Jorge was extremely helpful and attended any need. We arrived before the room was ready and so he gave us a key to the bathroom to freshen up, however, our room was ready immediate after that, long before the check in time. A definite venue to explore a little bit of old Spain. The fast ferry from Santa Pola took 20 minutes and cost 15€ for a return trip. I can't wait to return.
The hotel gave a great continental breakfast, all served at the table which was fine . More than adequate food n drink. , yoghurt n sprinkle of muesli, toasted fresh rolls with oil n salt , fresh fruit pieces, a plate of cold meats , coffee and juice.... am sure if you had a dietary requirement they would cater for that too.
The hotel was on the main road, the rooms were very clean & breakfast was brilliant, Carol was a great host she also checked the time table of the ferry as the day we were leaving it was very windy.
Probably the best Seaview from the balcony among all hotels at Tabarca. The breakfast is simple, but still have it charm. The staff are very friendly.
The location, the hotel, the breakfast - all was just great! We absolutely enjoyed our stay and highly recommend Hostal Masin!
I liked everything. Above all, I highlight the sympathy and good service, which treated us great at all times. The room (suite) was quite cool although it lacked light and the mattress was not very comfortable but we were very comfortable. The building, renovated original, is a pass
The room was very clean, you can sleep very peacefully and quietly, the staff was very friendly, they let us store our bags so we could go to the beach before occupying the room and also once we left the hotel.
The breakfast is very rich and plentiful. The staff was super friendly. Well decorated, new, comfortable
Good location, friendly staff, clean and comfortable.
