Great location for a peaceful stay or stopover before Camino del Ray. Located within walking distance of a friendly little village with bars restaurants and small supermarkets etc. Friendly and welcoming owners. Just a half hour drive from Antequera.
The villa is situated about 1 kilometer outside the town which is very quite and friendly, we also ate at a couple of different restaurants and tapas bar and the food was always of a very high standard. We also visited the wolf park which is about 15 minutes away and the famous Camino del Rey which is also within driving distance. There is also a large lake near the Camino del Rey which has a number of water sports, great fun for the old and not so old.
A village of 4000 people, Valle de Abdalajis is a typical Andalucian White village in the Malaga countryside, 50 km from Malaga city. It sits in a valley with a striking mountain range overlooking one side and is famous for hang gliding. It is the birthplace of Beata Petra who founded a home for the poor and homeless and still operates to this day. There is a very interesting museum in the home or convent as it is known as the nuns still run it. The village has a really interesting municipal museum as well and has history going back thousands of years. It was a major Roman town called Nesania and a town of lesser importance during Arabic times but where the origin of its name comes from 'Abdul-Aziz' There are a few establishments serving hearty country food and some good bars. For hikers and rock climbers there is everything here and the village is really close to the newly reopened Camino del Rey.
