We only had one nights stay, which was a shame. we would have loved to have stayed longer. Room wasnt large but well designed. It's super clean and comfortable, and we had a great nights sleep. The staff were exceptional, so helpful, many thanks. Breakfast was superb, wow. Close to train station (make sure you have the right one, as there are 2 stations). Vigo is great and would totally recommend this hotel.

FAQs about hotels in Vigo

A Busy Port Town with a Charming and Laid Back City Centre

The port town of Vigo is nestled off the pristine waters of Ria de Vigo and its famous Port of Vigo is the biggest and busiest fishing port in the world; However, beyond the port are the old narrow streets of the old town around Rua dos Cesteiros, and monuments such as Nosa Señora da Guía Shrine and Santa María Collegiate Church.

Vigo is home to many landmarks such as Galicia Sea Museum, Contemporary Museum of Art and the late 19th century Centro cultural Caixanova theatre. The streets are lined with bars, restaurants and cafés serving fresh seafood along with traditional Spanish and international cuisines.

The white-sandy beaches and Natural Park of the unspoilt Cíes Islands are a 45-minute boat ride from Estación Marítima. Popular areas in Vigo are America Square and the beach areas of Praia de Samil and Playa de Areas.

Vigo Train Station offers connections throughout the Galicia region, whilst Vigo Airport has direct flights to several international destinations.

Booking.com has a range of accommodation options to suite all budgets in Vigo and popular nearby cities such as Cangas de Morrazo and Nigrán.

We arrived on a public holiday so most of the shops were closed. Lots of nice cafes and bars. I can recommend Café Sémola for delicious cakes and pastries and Peregrinus for dinner. At both places the staff were friendly, welcoming and efficient and the food was excellent. The view from the top of Monte do Castro is worth the climb. We took the ferry to Cangas. Lots of beaches to choose from. We were there on a Sunday so again most shops are closed.

Vigo is beautiful.

Vigo is beautiful. We will visit again, but not stay at Hotel Celta. We thoroughly enjoyed visiting Santiago de Compostela & Pontevedra. Milongas in A Laxe shopping centre is a lovely restaurant with great views, food, staff & service. The 90 minute Vigo tour bus is a worthwhile trip with 3 interesting stops.

You can't miss visiting the isles Cies! There is also a lovely small zoo. The port is lovely with commodities and casino to visit. Great city to explore neighbour places such as Santiago de Compostela. You can see everything in 3- 4 days.

Vigo is a beautiful big city, but it s very dirty.

Vigo is a beautiful big city, but it s very dirty. Everywhere on the streets there was trash and almost everywhere we went to me meaning accomodations and resturants there were cockroaches. Not to mention how hard it was to find accomodation in our budget. Felt like everything is overpriced

The language barrier is a problem.

The language barrier is a problem. People refuse to speak English. As tourists from South Africa it was very difficult as we could not ask for any assistance. The taxi drivers don't understand English. We could not find a tourist center to assist us. We could find any information center. We did no sightseeing through the city as we could not find a bus. It was a very difficult experience. I did not visit any of the attractions as we did not know where to book.

Vigo is a not your typical tourist spot, but is a great based to see other sites. We used it to go to the Islas Cies (by boat) and Santiago and Valença (Portugal) by bus. The food in Vigo is top notch with a good mix of surf and turf available. The people are also very friendly.

The location of the property was in walking distance of all the attractions. The hotel bar was cheaper than anywhere else we stopped for drinks and made it a pleasant end to busy days sightseeing. It's probably fair to say the room could do with a bit of an upgrade but it was still comfortable and was made up every day. Breakfast was basic but fresh and plentiful and therefore worth 8€. Overall worth the money and would stay again if we returned to Vigo.

The Staff here made me feel like I was at home, away from home. My son is obsessed with Marta and I love them all. They go above and beyond and try and always help your needs. I have already told a few friends, who is travelling to Spain and they said they are going to book here too, when they travel in a couple of months time.

The staff was very nice and the location was perfect The experience was not unpleasant, but it did not live up to what we are used to. What saves the hotel is that the staff were always very attentive, polite, and charismatic, and the location was perfect for spending a week in Vigo.
