Albergue San Pelayo is set in Puente Villarente and on the Santiago de Compostela Pilgrimage Route. It has a restaurant, free Wi-Fi and a communal kitchen and laundry room. This was a true gem of a place after a long day on the Camino. The albergue was beautifully furnished, the communal areas super comfortable and clearly a lot of thought had gone into the furnishings and art work. The garden was especially tranquil. The hosts were fabulous

Offering attractive rooms with balconies, Hotel Camino Real is set in Valdelafuente, just 3.1 mi from the center of León. It features a 24-hour reception and a restaurant. Located in Mansilla de las Mulas, La Casa de Mansilla has self-catering accommodations with a balcony and free WiFi. The property has city views and is 13 miles from León. Amazing apartment. Our best accommodation on the Camino to date. Our host’s parents welcomed us and made sure we were comfortable.
Villarente is a small village on the outskirts of Leon & very close to the Camino. It was a good location & the accommodation was fairly priced. Good for pilgrims walking the Camino. We arrived by car too late to eat in the Albergue or elsewhere in the village, but there was a self catering kitchen/dining room & we were able to make our own food & eat the same area. It suited us as we were tired after a long drive from France. The owners were very welcoming & helpful. The rooms were clean but there was an overpowering smell of air freshner in them. Even with the windows wide open, we had difficulty in sleeping with such strong smell around us. Breakfast was from 6a.m. - 8a.m but as this was aimed at Camino walkers, that was fair enough. We were there for one night with a visit to Leon the following day.
