Inolvidable experiencia en un velero de 11 metros! is located in Zumaia. Providing complimentary private parking, the boat is 1969 feet from Santiago Beach. Miguel was a great host an it was nice to know that he was just a phonecall away in case there were any questions. We went on a short sailing tour and he explained and showed us a lot. Jumping in the ocean straight from the boat was so much fun. The facility at the yacht club were clean an accessible anytime with the keys that Miguel gives you. The boat has everything you need for the night and we even prepare a nice breakfast in the kitchen area.
URAIN Suites - Apartments at Flysch-Coast features garden views, free WiFi and free private parking, located in Zumaia, 1.7 mi from Sakoneta Beach. We stayed here for three days. The room is fresh, two levels. The kitchen is well equipped, at a minimum there is everything you need from utensils. Linen, mattresses, pillows are all fresh and comfortable. Mistress Anais was always available, provided a lot of useful information about local attractions. Children fell in love with a donkey and a dog.
Good centre for visiting San Sebastian and walking in surrounding countryside. Great safe sandy beach with very nice Restaurant and bar. Was disappointed with the lack of restaurants open, no doubt this Is due to health restrictions due to virus.
Zumaia sits on the Camino del Norte and GR 121 walking routes. The coastal scenery to both sides of the estuary is stunning. The town itself is pleasantly situated on the west side of the estuary and is well served with restaurants and small bars serving the local 'pinxos'. This would make a very good central location for more extensive tours of the region while avoiding the bustle of either San Sebastian or Bilbao. The narrow gauge Euskotren rail network has regular and economically priced services along the coast. You can forget the car and 'let the train take the strain'.
A lovely little town with a great beach. The flysch are fascinating to look at. There are plenty of coastal walks and you can take a boat trip to see the coast. You can take trains and buses to San Sebastián if you want to explore further afield. The whole coast is beautiful.
We were there to photograph the unique Flysch rocks on the coast; other love it for sun and surfing. The beach looked like it would be great for swimming in summer, with a wide crescent and a long stretch of shallow water to play in. Too many restaurants were closed for vacations or pre-season timing to give a fair evaluation of the dining options, but we can recommend the gin tonics at a bar just off the public square.
Delicious food. Eat pintxos (tapas). Try Iodia Restaurant. Visit the beachside where you can find the flysches. They are really interesting and important rock structures. You can take a walk through the paths along flysches or seaside. You may also visit the nearside towns (Deba, Getaria, etc.) and San Sebastian.
The location was great. It is nature but walking distance to the town. It was a great place to get away and relax
- beautiful rooms and very helpful and friendly staff
