It was a relief to walk through the door of a clean, efficient hotel. The abundant parking outside the building is such a nice contrast to some of the establishments that stretch the definition of parking to include areas on the street, some distance away.Everything worked as it should and the location is really good. The very scenic St Goustan port is just a few minutes walk away and well worth a visit.

Auray Saint Goustan was a truly magical, ancient, small Breton town situated beside the water. Eating a delicious dinner overlooking the colourful vintage fishing boats and the old stone bridge in the setting sun was an image I want to lock in my memory box forever. The huge and rambling Auray market day on a Monday morning is definite must for a market lover!
Auray is a nice little town. I particularly like Saint-Goustan where I used to go with my family when I was a child. Nice little cafés, restaurants, nice walks. Look out for artists and enjoy the old timbered houses.
Lovely town full of character. Great cafes and restaurants. Lots of good shops, a fish market and busy outdoor market on a Monday. Station with TGV fast train to and from Paris. Short drive to Carnac and the sea.
The walk along the quayside at St Goustan takes you past the picturesque small harbour, with boats drying out at low tide to the modern bridge and beyond. The bridge is worth a closer look as you can see the thick steel pin that allows for expansion and supports the entire structure.Across the water Auray itself has a good scattering of older buildings mixed with the new.As a base to explore the Morbihan region it would be hard to beat.
Auray centre ville and Port Goustan are hidden gems! Lovely harbour down there! Train to Quiberon ("tire-bouchon") which stops at several good places to walk and swim. Buses to Carnac, Ste-Anne, Vannes etc. Very helpful tourist information in Auray!
Auray is a wonderful old town with a super Monday market. It should not be missed. We enjoyed the small cafe near the Halles for a breakfast of coffee, juice and croissants. it was fun wlking about the town both on market day, and on other days when shops were more accessible. Auray/St Goustan is a super headquarters for short day trips to the coast, to Canack and its very interesting paleolithic stone rows and burial mounds, and to Quiberon beyond. If you like FRESH oysters, try the oyster farms that have retail sales.
The location is great, just in front of the charming Port Goustan and the pedestrian center of Auray. Plenty of nice restaurants just next to the building. The famous market of Auray is also easily accessible by foot. The apartment is quite big, comfortable and quiet. The kitchen is well equipped, also for sea food meals. The washing machine and the dryer are a plus. The apartment is very well situated for a hike/trail by the river with great views. The public parking spots are at a 5 minutes walk.
unsurpassed location with river views, very clean and fully equipped with everything you need. good size for the price range, and the fold down bed was very easy to use, and comfortable- it’s a proper bed, not a sofa bed. great heating (early March stay) and plenty of car parking close by. great dining options on your doorstep, and Auray is a beautiful little village - we should have stayed at least 2 nights! Very good info from the owner regarding access etc.
The hotel is really well managed and taken care of. Very clean and quiet. My room was facing the parking but I was not at all bothered by traffic. Neither did I hear anything from the adjacent rooms. The best part for me was the free parking. I never had a problem finding a space. Breakfast was lovely and service so nice. I would absolutely recommend this hotel. Best quality/price ratio.
Hotel was lovely. Good communication about the fact the reception was closed and information provided about breakfast and access to the hotel. The room was a comfortable size - space was used well and perfect for the 3 of us. The breakfast was delicious. Found a nice pizza restaurant close by for dinner (Le borselino).
Everything. Corinne and Eddy are wonderful hosts, who made us feel most welcome. The rooms are very comfortable and the breakfasts are superb, with excellent coffee. In these days of regimented group hotels, Le Marin is a breath of fresh air and good for the soul.
Auray was a great discovery... Where we loved to old city centre and port (though small). From here we did several excursions in the region. The hotel was what we expect from a Best Western: simply good / clean and comfy.
Restaurant had fabulous food. Staff very helpful. Good night sleep. Breakfast good. Modern hotel.
Only two hotels in the centre of this town and this was the best
