Ludo and Alexis are wonderful hosts. From the moment Alexis greeted us we felt at home. They have a very interesting property built in an old coaching inn. However all the important features are up to date. Our room was very spacious with a comfortable bed. Ludo is a really good cook and we had a superb meal, especially the terrine and the crème renversee. Breakfast was also special with tasty homemade preserves, financiers and chocolate praline cooks.

Wonderful , little known gem of a place.

Wonderful , little known gem of a place. The locals have put so much effort into tourism , but it’s still quiet . Beautiful , historic, traditional and warm and friendly community . Very interesting history , lovely bait rides, wall murals and illuminations at night throughout out summer.

A very pretty little town...with lots of shops...and in the...

A very pretty little town...with lots of shops...and in the summer, without a doubt, river activities... In winter, it's beautifully decorated during the Christmas season. The shopkeepers are friendly... It's well worth a visit. Everything is within walking distance...everything is close by.

Bonneval is a charming, lively little town, surrounded by...

Bonneval is a charming, lively little town, surrounded by canals and, most importantly, very close to Illiers-Combray and the Marcel Proust Museum and the Pré Catelan (see photos). It's also not far from several superb castles to visit (in season) and not far from Chartres. You won't need to look far for restaurants; Bonneval has everything you need!

A modest little town, but one that strives to attract and...

A modest little town, but one that strives to attract and welcome visitors. Pleasant tourism, especially the boat trips in the moat. Ambient public music in the streets, which knows when to stop at 9 pm.

We only stayed one night on our way there and one night on...

We only stayed one night on our way there and one night on our way back from our holiday. We didn't visit Bonneval, just had an excellent meal at Restaurant Le Dix Huit, which we highly recommend! The owner and waiters were extremely friendly, and the food was incredible.

The restaurant is located in the building itself and is perfectly in keeping with the style. It's fantastic! The bedroom is very spacious, with comfortable beds. There's a large bathroom with a shower, a separate toilet, and a spacious hallway with large closets. It's situated in a quiet, green setting. The host is friendly and speaks excellent English. Highly recommended.
