This is an odd, sleepy town with many, many empty shops, and virtually no tourism. We know it well as we often go to see friends nearby and we stay in the same hotel. We don't understand why it is declining more and more each time we go. There needs to be an injection of life, money, jobs...something. There are some lovely art deco buildings there, eg the cinema but noone is making the most of anything there. Only 1 decent hotel/restaurant, The Central. Surely the mayor and council could be doing something to perk it up.
Several rooms "under the roof" to distribute the family for sleeping. Parking was full most of the time, but public parking is just next to the hotel, so that was no major issue. Staff at reception was very helpful and friendly.
very easy to find the property. Parking in front of the hotel, not sure if there was actually parking behind the hotel. The room was clean as was the bathroom. Bed pretty comfortable. Good breakfast in the morning.
