I could write a book about what I liked of Maison Aurinko. The hosts are simply the best we've ever come across. Anthony, Marion and their daugher Soa are extremely warm, welcoming, attentive and passionate to make you feel at home. Anthony is always there for anything you need, he'll bake the bread, prepares the breakfast, makes an excellent coffee and serves dinner. Marion is an excellent chef, so make sure to order their dinner because you'll have a stellar experience. The several course menu blew our minds and knowing everything is home-grown, handmade and prepared in front of you takes it to another level. Soa is the happiest child and was in love with our dog, and our dog with her. The place is conveniently located in the heart of Perigord noir, close to all the touristic places but in the quiet town of Thenon. There are chickens and ducks, grass and sun-chairs to relax. Let's not forget the breakfast! Everything comes from their garden and is handmade as well, even croissants! It's the first time I felt bad not being able to eat it all because I simply couldn't fit anything else in me. Lastly, they sell their own jams and other products which are delicious as well! Oh! And the rooms are pristine and the beds super comfortable!

The property is beautiful. An authentic old house beautifully restored with lots of original period features. Its location is gorgeous, in the middle of beautiful, peaceful, unspoilt countryside with a river literally at the bottom of the garden. The rooms are spotlessly clean and the en suite bathroom has a huge walk in shower. The guest rooms are restful, peaceful, and cool even in 30+ degrees heat. Marie-Anne is a fabulous host. Nothing is too much trouble for her to make sure her guests have a great stay! Breakfast is great with lots of Marie-Anne’s homemade jams, cakes & Madelines. We had a wonderful stay at the manoir, its location means it’s great for travelling around to see all of the many delights that the Dordogne area has to offer, and it was lovely at the end of each day to come back to the calm sanctuary of this lovely house.

I had a very lovely stay at the property. The rooms are very clean and new, with very comfortable bedrooms. The hosts are the sweetest and nicest people. One of the hosts is a chef, so definitely opt for the dinner option—I had the best zucchini gratin of my life. Thank you again for such a pleasant stay.
