The property was perfectly located in the town square, with parking directly outside of the property. The owner communicated with us very well and in a timely manner, informing us of the need to move our car the night before the Flea market (Sunday) and the Weekly Market (Wednesday). On both occasions it was easy to find parking just on the edge of the town square, just a short walk away. The apartment itself is large and beautifully decorated, with a very comfortable sofa and bed, well equipped kitchen and a heavenly shower/bathroom, with washing machine and tumble dryer. The added bonus was the very fast Wi-Fi available in the flat, which was invaluable in planning our next days exploring. Also worth mentioning is the restaurant in the town square, it is called Cafe de la Place, and it serves a wonderful Plat du Jour for less than 20 euros per person, delicious. Very close to Callac is The Valley of the Saints, definitely worth a visit if you get the chance.

It was a spacious and very comfortable lounge which was close enough to the kitchen diner for constant contact. Everything was as good as we could have hoped for. A bonus having a friendly interesting host and a a large covered area to park our car out of the hot sun. We wouldn't hesitate to return. Also, a great base to see some of the beautiful Brittany countryside, not to mention the very close Valley of the Saints which was fantastic!

Perfect breakfast, couldn’t wish for anything more. Merlyn was ever so helpful with everything. I was even offered a safe and dry place for my bicycle. I highly recommended Chez Merlyn to all.

The location and property very much met our needs and were...

The location and property very much met our needs and were above our expectations. Local amenities provided the items which we required, and the location of these amenities was easily accessible. Eating out was easy to do with multiple locations both local and within nearby towns, making trips out straight forward to organise. Callac is an simple enough place to navigate with good access to surrounding areas of interest. Next time we visit we may travel to a port closer to the location such as Saint-Marlo, rather than Calais as the drive within France would be less, so providing more time at the property
