We were an hour late arriving at the apartment due to the Brittany ferry being late, so did not get there until 10pm Sebastian could not have been more helpful. He left the keys in the mail box, but his mother also arrived to make sure we were ok and to show us how things worked. The location of the apartment is wonderful, right in the centre of the village. It is on the second floor of an old building, quite quirky, but the apartment is beautifully presented, with everything you could want for a weeks stay. It is modern, comfortable with a large bathroom and fully equipped kitchen. Being right in the centre means you can walk to the local bars and restaurants. There are 3 really good restaurants in the village. There is a supermarket downstairs from the apartment and it sells everything you need. There are also two boulangeries just across the road. You can easily walk to the sea front, about 10 minutes and there are various bars and restaurants there, it is about 20 minutes from Morlaix. Carantec is a wondrful holiday destination, and only 30 minutes from the ferry.

This is a great little place to see just a minute from the beach. Lovely view of the sea from balcony. I swam most evenings. Easy walk down beach and into centre Nice general store, Boulanger and bar.

Carantec is a beautiful large village /small town. it has many wonderful beaches all within walking distance. there is good coastal walking nearby. there are good restaurants and bars, little independant shops, a good supermarket that stocks everything you need. there is also a good market on a thursday morning. For us it is ideal as we come accross on the ferry from plymouth and it is only a 30 minute drive.

We only stayed for one night in Carantec but you could fill...

We only stayed for one night in Carantec but you could fill a couple of days here. The creperie in town was quite pleasant and well priced. We happened to be staying on a night that the town was putting on a beachfront fireworks display which was very popular. With the beaches, islands and fort surrounding the town, plus the other nearby towns like Roscoff and Saint-Pol-de-Léon, there's plenty to fill your time with around here.

Lovely area with beautiful beach.

Lovely area with beautiful beach. Good cafes and restaurants within easy walking distance of hotel. Market on a Thursday. Bit of a hill to walk back from the beach ( good to walk off dinner) Easy reach for ferry from Roscoff. We ate at the Petits Relais on the beach. (Need to book) . Full of locals. Friendly staff can speak English and really good food. Plenty of good supermarkets in the area for wine buying and getting other French delicacies.

Lovely little town. there is a market on a Thursday morning. Nice restaurants and bars. Easy walking to the beach. 20 minutes along the coast road to Morlaix. Also 10 minutes from St Pol de Leon which is also a lovely little town.

A charming little town with all amenities, several beaches,...

A charming little town with all amenities, several beaches, and coastal paths offering fabulous views of Morlaix Bay. Boat trips are available in the bay, and you can visit the Château du Taureau and the Île de Batz. The GR34 hiking trail is nearby. There's a lovely market on Thursdays. Be sure to book a restaurant in advance, as most are fully booked in the evenings during August. There are very few hotels in Carantec.

A very friendly welcome everywhere.

A very friendly welcome everywhere. Tourist office open between noon and 2 pm. Hiking, heritage sites, viewpoints, beaches, boat rentals, close to Morlaix, Kerjean, Barnenez, Locquénolé. If it rains: maritime museum, churches, house in Pondalez, make your own chocolate at Grain de Sail.

Sun in the balcony in the evening, lovely way to relax after a day sightseeing. The bedrooms are large, and the bed is comfortable. Kitchen has everything you would need for holiday. Walking distance to Carantec, we have an electric car easy to charge car in the village and walking distance to beach for cold water swimming. Host is very considerate and helpful.
