The hotel offers excellent value for money and functional accommodations and the dedicated staff welcome you in a friendly atmosphere. Great evening meal, especially the salad buffet. Very helpful and friendly staff allowed us to store our bikes in the conference room.
Located in the middle of Château-Thierry, the Hotel Hexagone offers well-equipped rooms with private bathrooms, free Wi-Fi internet access and a flat-screen TV with cable channels. Breakfast was excellent. Room was a bit small and the bathroom/toilet facilities were unique and the toilet area was cramped. But we could see the Marne River from our room.
Appartement Carnot Style Urbain offers accommodations in Château-Thierry. Appartement Carnot Style Urbain features views of the city and is 25 mi from Épernay. This was a lovely modern fully functional studio apartment for a long stay. I was able to use the kitchen for daily cooking, keep the fridge stocked with items bought from the local supermarket and with access to all local shops it was easy to buy my daily baguette!! The room was larger than I expected. There is a fabulous large walk in shower with supply to hot water and toiletries in the bathroom if required. The bed was reasonably comfortable for a long stay and there was a decent wi-fi signal for the majority of the time as well as large TV with access to entertainment such as Netflix. I enjoyed the location in the bustling town center, the road noise didn't bother me and there were shutters that could be pulled down over the window at night. The host was always ready to give assistance when needed and I was not disturbed by the host at all which was appreciated. The location is ideal for walking to the castle and other places in the town center and I found the interior of the flat quiet most of the time according to the other guests staying at the time. I would definitely choose to stay here again.
This 16th-century guesthouse is located in the center of Chateau-Thierry, just 165 ft from the town hall. It offers individually-decorated rooms, a terrace and free private parking. Very clean, cozy and artistic home. We have stayed twice, each time was excellent in terms of owner, quiet, facility, location, breakfast and French press coffee. Breakfast in the garden was lovely! Public parking was close and easy but be careful if the square will host a market the following morning. Marrakesh restaurant 1" walk away was excellent. Enjoyed the beautiful town, market, and American Cemetery at Aisne-Marne (Belleau Wood). Steps could be difficult for mobility impaired, but fine otherwise.
Set in Château-Thierry, 28 mi from Vinay, Maison Joussaume Latour offers a garden and free WiFi. The air-conditioned units have a fully equipped kitchenette with a microwave, kettle, and a fridge. Beautiful house with swimming pool, friendly welcome and the breakfast was great.
The Marine Memorial was amazing and having my father drink from the Devil Dog Fountain, as he is a member of the Military order of the Devil Dogs and a former 5th marine, was an extremely humbling experience
I came for a memorial service and to play tourist to some of the local landmarks. Perfect "home base" for my purpose. Wifi wasn't great but got the job done (had a research paper to work on while I was there). Restaurant downstairs made life easy and was good too.
I travelled to Chateau-Thierry to visit the areas where the Battle of Belleau Wood occurred. It is a scenic area, full of history and the locals were very friendly. I wish I would have had more time to explore the area.
Chateau and grounds well worth a visit and walk through old streets. Excellent Creperie - good crepes and super friendly atmosphere. Town dominated by La Fontaine - charming references all over including a series of cartoons on the bridge depicting his Fables. Museum also.
Lots of nice Champagne vineyards to visit. Quite town, with a surprising find of an Indian restaurant (Le Panjab, 5 Rue du Château) that will let you order off menu and cooked to Indian style. (which means spicy, strong flavours versus the local milder variants.)
