SwedenIt was very big for a family of 5. They hade everything u could possible need. Full kitchen , great location for kids, quiet, great host. And we found great food in the Port Bessin. And then we did a one day tour of D-day. We booked in panic when we came to a hotel that doubled booked us. Stephane took us in right away. We also bought some cider that was delicious. I wish that we can go back.

Commes is a small village, which is a good location for...
Commes is a small village, which is a good location for travelling around this part of Normandy. Our particular interest was the D Day landings and the location was excellent for this. Also we visited Bayeux and the chateau at Balleroy. Commes is a short distance from Port en Bassin which has excellent restaurants and bars, shops and a supermarket.

Our host Michel gave a fabulous welcome to a wonderful independent gite with safe parking, a huge gated garden for us and our dog to enjoy with patio, the accommodation was a rustic treasure that relaxed, all amenities, comfortable, clean, spacious, highly recommend, we will definitely return, commes is a great location by harbour port village and close to Omaha, Bayeau so all the museums and landing sites etc easily accessible

The host is exceptionally friendly and the property is very charming. It must have been an old farm that has been converted into an hotel. The food is so good that we chose to have dinner at the restaurant attached to the hotel every evening. Location is excellent for people who would like to see the landing beaches of the Allies. Omaha beach and especially the Battery Longue sur Mer is just around teh corner.

Room was good - clean and spacious, with an excellent bathroom. Breakfast was also good. Location is a little out of town. Evening meal in the restaurant was very good. We were cycling but the hotel was unable to accept and store our bags before 4.00pm.
