Located in the city center of Fontenay-le-Comte, this former post-house dates from before the time of King François I. Free WiFi and free private parking are offered at Le Logis Fontarabie. Good location. Attractive restaurant with good food and nice ambiance under the wisteria.
Located in Fontenay-le-Comte, Logis de la Harpe has accommodations with free WiFi and seating area. Great family room in a very quiet location - close to wonderful walks, old city, and restaurants. Very easy and available parking nearby. The hosts did a really nice job of trying to anticipate anything we might need in the room (and more) which we really appreciated. Even for our dog! The breakfast was also quite original and good.
Typical small provincial French Town , very pretty with a number of bars and restaurants where even the humblest cafe puts many uk restaurants to shame! Good base for exploring the area. Vouvant is a must to visit with it’s ruined castle .
We only had one nights stay in Fontenay-le-Comte as we were heading on to say in Bordeaux for a few days. We didn't get a chance to explore the town and surrounding area but our first impressions were very positive. We enjoyed a drink in a nice cafe/ bar in a little square not too far from our hotel. My son was delighted to go for a run along the riverbank before dinner.
Only a few minutes from motorway, no trouble in locating hotel, as it can be seen from the road. We were very impressed with the internet, it really was instant. They have a great restaraunt offering a good choice of meals, particularly steaks. I would highly recommend the Contact Hotel.
we found the place quite interesting and good to explore as walkers. Our two day stop over on our way from St Malo to St George de Didonne (nr Royan) was just right in length and served our travel schedule. We would certainly stop over again on our travels with a car in France. No problems with parking !!
We only had a short stop-over but what we saw looked very nice. We had a meal at Cantina Mia which was excellent, some of the bars on the main street appeared to be aimed at younger folk, given the loud music.
Fantastic evening meal and breakfast
