My goodness, what an exceptional hotel and restaurant! Traditional on the outside, the interior decor was very stylish and modern, with great lighting and art - and very friendly staff. The room was spacious with a great bathroom/shower and unexpected gifts inside - a traditional homebaked Basque cake, complimentary drinks in the fridge and a wonderful selection of tealeaves (cups with strainers) and a coffee machine. A really lovely welcome. But then came the most amazing bit - the evening meal! We were on a road trip and didn't want to splash out on the Michelin star restaurant so chose to eat in the Bistro. It was honestly the best meal I've ever eaten - and at a very reasonable price. Three courses, two options for each. And every one spectacular. Also a very nice white wine served with it. In the morning, breakfast was served in the main restaurant so we were able to watch the chef preparing our food. He was very friendly and chatted to us. He made the best scrambled egg ever! Was asked if he'd make us some sandwiches to take on the road with us - which he did. And guess what - they were delicious with homemade bread! I wish we lived locally, we'd eat here all the time! In the morning, we also wandered into the town and the farmers' market. It was a mixture of food - fresh and cooked - and gifts. Fun to soak up the local atmosphere.

A tastefully renovated small boutique hotel in Hasparren in the French Basque country. We were immediately made to feel welcome being personally shown to our room. The rooms are delightful, comfortable and spotlessly clean. We had a spacious bathroom with a large walk in shower The bed was super comfortable. A window opened out onto a first floor terrace with extended views. We didn't have time to enjoy the stunning garden and superb swimming pool. We ate in the restaurant in the evening enjoying a convivial atmosphere and really high quality well prepared meal. Having set such a high standard at the evening meal, the breakfast did not disappoint. It was first class, thoughtfully prepared with real quality produce. The owner is top quality restaurant trained and it shines through. We hope to return!

The location is great, with free parking and right in the middle of a lovely village. The room was spacious and it had a very nice balcony that we really enjoyed. Both the bathroom and the room were spacious, clean and had all the amenities. It was quiet at night. I really enjoyed the stay!

Really liked driving around the area and our trip to Sare and Le Train de La Rhune. Hasparren is in the centre of many tourist areas and quite close to Biarritz. The local town was also very charming.

Wonderful hotel with excellent professional staff! Everyone is always busy making the hotel perfect. The food was brilliant, the staff awesome (friendly and helpful) and the pool/pool area first class. That good I stayed 2 nights! The room was spotless and modern and very comfortable bed! Travelling on my motorcycle, it was perfect with off the street private parking. 👏 merci!

I didn't have breakfast, but the location was superb. Better to stay in a small town where places are easier to find and from that base to tour the country around than to stay in a big city. The hotel staff were very attentive and helpful. The restaurant was excellent. Everything was fine!

Room was very nicely decorated, very clean with the added bonus of little treats in the room. Location in a small charming town . Good parking . The staff let us use the gym located next door in the sports arena attached to the hotel this was great . Good quality breakfast.

A friendly and quiet hotel in a small picturesque Basque town with modern facilities, attention to detail and warm staff. The kitchen was excellent and just what is needed to wind down after a long drive.
