Offering an outdoor swimming pool, a sun terrace and a garden, Auberge du Canabal is a B&B located in Lauzerte. Free WiFi access is available in common areas. Daniel our host was welcoming and friendly, offering us a drink on arrival. The friend we were visiting couldn't book a restaurant and Daniel invited us to eat in, a wise decision as he is a talented chef, providing a top-class dinner. Highly recommend a detour to stay there.

A perfect place to stay!
The medieval town of Lauzerte is well worth a visit and was garrisoned by an English army in the 13th century. Good restaurants and a couple of good bars. Pleasant place to stay with beautiful half timbered buildings festooned with grape vines. Fabulous views of the surrounding countryside and a good base for touring the surrounding towns of Moissac with its lovely river and The Canal du midi runs through the town. Agen and Cahors are also quite close. Being the Tarne et Garronne region, there is also plenty of walks along the rivers for the nature lovers amongst us and also plenty of opportunities to fish.
If you want real peace and calm away from it all, this is the place for you. The hotel is set in its own grounds, miles from any main road. It has the most stunning views over the valley which you can experience from your room (ask for one overlooking the valley) or the infinity pool which overlooks the valley. The room was very well appointed and comfortable (a round bed !). We ate in the hotel (there is nowhere else to go) and had an entirely acceptable dinner.
