Located in the French Alps, in Meribel Ski Resort, Hotel La Chaudanne is 164 feet from the ski slopes and offers an indoor swimming pool and a hammam. Staff is very kind and we were very well treated. Bar and restaurant are a plus. Location is the best. General facilities are very good.
Hotel in Méribel
Offering a heated outdoor pool and hot tub, Hotel Le Tremplin is located in the center of Méribel. The property is 164 feet from the ski slopes. Free WiFi access is provided. It is one of the two closest hotels to the ski school. The ski locker room was convenient. We had two rooms that were next door and had a door on our private 5 ft hallway to allow our three kids in one room and us in the other. But the housekeepers had a closet of towels on our hall so they were in and out all of the time which was sort of strange because we left our doors open and you never knew who might walk in. La Chaudanne is across the street and has a far better style. But their restaurant is so incredibly loud with trendy music I don’t know how you would stay there if you weren’t in your 20s. Was like an American Abercrombie and Fitch. Was glad we stayed at Tremplin but their style, dirty floors and cramped space made me wish it was a little better. Beautiful slopes and close walk for the area. It is about 100 yards to the slopes lifts. Still a bit of a walk. But the closest hotel.

Meribel - Mottaret is a great resort a little higher and smaller than Meribel. It’s ideal for families as has many ski-in out options. At Easter it was fairly quiet, no queues and plenty of Space. Weather was changeable but we had very good snow 3 /5 days. The restaurants are decent and there is a good supermarket. All very easy to navigate. ESF ski school recommended.
Fabulous find. Great location with all amenities within walking distance. Super well groomed large and varied ski area accessible to beginners and intermediate skiers. Great people. Excellent food and drink. Amazing views.
We went to meribel for downhill mountain biking. While there are a few red and black trails, which favour a downhill bike, most trails and tracks are better suited with an enduro bike. If you don't mind a little bit of pushing uphill, it's fine either way. Most "Bikepark" tracks are on the easier side suited well for beginners. Elite/pro tracks are harder to find, but those that exist are fun to ride with well built jumps and drops / obstacles. I wouldn't mind to have more of those though. The enduro trails are panoramic and absolutely superb. The view from the mountains is just stunning. Descent is sometimes over 1000hm which is really amazing. All three valleys can be accessed with chair lifts by a single ticket. The price is totally fair. Summed up, for hardcore Bikepark riding an area like Chatel/Avoriaz/Morzine is probably a bit better, but for a good mixture of DH/Enduro Meribel and surrounding area is just perfect. Would bring both bikes next time though ;)
I have been to Meribel for a week's skiing before and had a great time. Now I visit often for just the day as we stay in Chamagny en vanoise which is just across the valley from Courcheval and has access to la Plagne, Champagny is a cute tradition French village and just feels like you're in France unlike some other ski resorts. From here we can ski La Plagne and Les Arcs or drive 20 mins to Courcheval to mix up the week a little.
My favorite skiing village in the 3 valleys due to its combination of location, charm and facilities. Excellent for families. It is quite quiet though, if you are interested in a really lively apes ski this place is probably not for you.
Huge ski area! Quick and easy to get to all corners of the 3 valleys from Meribel although the ski map and signposting around resort can be quite tricky to figure out. Make sure you leave plenty of time to get back to the valley you're staying in as it is easy to get a bit lost! Courchevel and the Meribel altiport area are both lovely for tree lined runs. Courchevel Moriond has some excellent smooth wide runs of different gradients and is a bit quieter than other areas. Val Thorens is buzzing with life and the wide green run through town is packed but great fun. The views from runs at the top of the far side of Val Thorens (e.g. Cime, Lory) are particularly spectacular. Enjoy!
Meribel-Mottaret, Méribel
Superb ski-in ski-out location. Everything you need is on the doorstep: supermarket, shops, restaurants, ESF, lift passes etc. Secure covered parking. The duplex arrangement is handy for teenagers who like their own space. 2 bathrooms are also a real bonus for families with older children or larger groups. Storage is a little on the tight side especially when you come home with very snow covered/wet ski gear. Kitchen space is very tight but well equipped. A microwave would be more handy than a combi oven/grill.
The location is fantastic. Less than 5 mins to the slopes and a very easy walk back from Rond Point (a great après bar!). The apartment itself is pretty nice and surprisingly spacious for skiing accommodation. Lots of handy kitchen utensils (although the knives are incredibly blunt), even a raclette machine which was a nice surprise and we enjoyed using. Nice spacious balcony with a great view of the slopes.
Meribel-Mottaret, Méribel
Great location. Meribel Mottaret is right in the middle of the 3 valleys so you can be up and away to an entirely other area in one gondola ride. The location has plenty of restaurants and the shuttle can take you into Meribel Centre if you want a change. Meribel has certainly had a makeover since we last visited it. Reception staff were extremely helpful and knowledgeable which we really appreciated.
The location of the hotel was perfect to ski in and out of. Wooden walls in the room made it feel super homey and cosy and I love the big balcony that had views of the mountain and people skiing. The staff were also extremely helpful with our ski plans and equipments and were very generous and welcoming in general. The bar makes great cocktails also!
Good value for money for in Meribel Centre for distance to ski lifts and going out in the evenings, quiet enough room for tired skiers who no bother from small noice from bar downstairs or from street, nice full breakfast from menu, welcoming and helpful young staff. Will come back anytime!
Meribel-Mottaret, Méribel
This is truly a ski in/out location and the ski area is great. Underground parking is an important bonus as parking along the road was full. The location is rather uphill from Meribel - Mottaret but there's a free bus which one could use until around midnight.
Méribel
The ambience, attention to detail and overall quality of everything is 5/5 stars. The place was fully booked when we were there but you never felt crowded, or anyone encroaching on your space.
Hotel was nice and well located with good facilities. Nice breakfast, dinner and Spa. Given the very high price room was OK ( but not fantastic ) with a nice view .
We had a great time at Le Mottaret from the moment we stepped through the door! Loved the spa, hot tub, food and room.
