We had such a lovely stay! The location is perfect, quiet, relaxing, and surrounded by a beautiful garden with a very nice pool. Outside the property you can enjoy some nice walks in the countryside and in the forest. Breakfast was fresh and delicious every morning, and the whole atmosphere was peaceful and calming. The host was super kind and welcoming, which made us feel right at home. We’d love to come back and can only recommend it!

It's an 18th c. gorgeous cream-colored stone chateau, set back from a quiet road, placed inside 20 hectares, with two three-story guest wings centrally joined by the dining room, library and game room. The location is 30 minutes from Perigueux, 15 minutes from Bergerac. Christophe is a gentle discreet host who appears magically if needed, but otherwise we felt that we had the chateau to ourselves despite the presence of a few other congenial guests. Our room "Lucie" on the top floor was tastefully appointed, with a plush bed, and a large beautiful bathroom with a clawfoot tub, a separate shower, and a W.C. A fine breakfast is included, but we also opted for dinner our arrival night. This Christophe also prepared himself: fresh fruit, sauteed chanterelles on toast, then a salad with three types of tomatoes separated by mozzarelle and drizzled with dressing and balsamic vinegar, then le plat of steak or chicken served with frites and sauteed vegetables, ending with handmade tiramisu. Much of this handpicked from Christophe's own gardens. There is a good wine list, very fairly priced, with good Bergerac examples among them. Did I mention the fantastic pool and the ability to walk through the fields? Christophe is also striving to create a Green and efficient operation despite the amenities as a solar field is very discreetly placed beyond the chateau. Final thoughts: It is a magical place.
