Great place for a stopover, lots of boating activity, great quayside restaurants and a visit to nearby " Brehat " island is a must. Very accessible by car with many other lovely resorts worth visiting
Great Easter weather brought out lots of people and the place was buzzing. Very few Brits evident, not sure why. Excellent seafood restaurants at sensible prices as lots of competition. Town and coast great for walking and cycling. We brought our bikes and cycled to a train station up the river and came back on the train - a suggestion from the Tourist Information office, which is nearby. We have been to Brittany many times, but first visit here, a great find and now one of our favourite places.
Very compact walkable town. Nice port area with plenty of seafood restaurants. Small and pleasant old town. A good selection of creperie. A nice base to explore the region including the towns of Treguier, Lannion, St Brieuc.
Lovely little town, harbours, beaches, rocks, singing boats - well ones with singers. Lovely Breton ice cream and lots of restaurants and creperies. Cycle friendly and will be back for longer. Harbour crossed by swing bridge, lovely views from the harbour out to sea and headlands that look worth exploring along with the more medieval part of town. Artisan potteries advertised by an exhibition in the tourist office.
The town is quaint, a real postcard. We stayed there for 5 days after Xmas and it was exactly what we needed. Lots to see around (abbaye de Beauport, Île de Brehat, Le Trieur, Plougrescant, Sillon de Talbert...), accessible by car or by bike (though Brittany is hilly so you'd better be in good shape!). Paimpol is quite touristic so restaurants are a tad more expensive than other coastal towns. Would recommend the Penn Ar Ty crêperie.
Véronique and Stéphane are very nice and helpful, even when it comes to planning your activities in the region around Paimpol. Breakfast is great with mainly local and home-made products. Room and bathroom was big, very clean. The whole site is nicely decorated. Private yard for parking your car is of great value, taking into account the small streets. We highly recommend this place.
