The apartment is the cutest accommodation imaginable. Leila was an incredibly thoughtful host going out her way to make my mom’s birthday stay during our time in Bruniquel extra special with her thoughtful gifts. She was incredibly responsive as well. Check in was easy and the accommodation was well equipped and clean.

The room and building were beautiful and tastefully appointed. Had I been staying for longer, I would have enjoyed exploring the grounds and swimming in the pool. I also enjoyed the charming and helpful company of Annie and Marc, and they served an excellent breakfast. The location is only a 10 minute drive from the interesting and lovely village of Bruniquel, one of the “plus beaux villages de France”. I thoroughly recommend!

A stunning, medieval village with a real sense of community.

A stunning, medieval village with a real sense of community. The village shop was well stocked with provisions and we particularly enjoyed the little tubs of delicious organic fruit sorbets they sold, all produced locally. Very refreshing on hot days. Despite its size, there is a choice of dining options, all of which enjoy a good reputation. We loved the dinners at l'Ancienne Auberge, where Greg, the chef, takes enormous pride in the quality and provenance of his ingredients. Here's a man - with the passion and flair for cooking - who consistently turns out delicious and imaginative dishes. We were lucky to attend a free outdoor concert by a group of young and telented operal singers, who performed in the square in front of the church. There are several artists and sculptors in the village and we enjoyed an exhibition by one of their number. This is a place that might appeal to walkers. There are numerous trails in the forest of Gresigne, some of which begin in Puycelsi. During hot weather, they provided ample shade! It's worth noting that guests who stay in the village can get a parking permit to park at a short distance from all the accommodation. Our hosts at l'Ancienne Auberge provided that for us for the duration. Otherwise, traffic is mainly confined to the edge of the village, which makes Puycelsi a peaceful, almost traffic-free place.

Lovely meals, super food and presented beautifully. Very charming view of the church and village square from our bedroom. An excellent welcome inspite of our being very late, and our dinner had been kept for us. Very friendly and considerate owners who went 'above and beyond' helping us deal with breakdown garage and hire car, and were able to accommodate us for the extra days we spent in Puycelsi waiting for our car to be repaired! We would love to go back to this lovely hotel and kind people.

The gite was probably the best equipped we have ever stayed in. Literally everything you might need was provided. The property had been very well modernised while retaining all of its charm. The two bathrooms in particular were great. And of course, Puycelci is just a wonderful village. The two main restaurants restored our faith in French cuisine and the local epicerie had everything you might need for a holiday stay. And finally thanks to Ged for dealing instantly with any queries.

The village is a beautiful medieval village which is quiet and peaceful. The hotel is a lovely old building overlooking the church. For dinner we preferred to, and very happy we did, go along with culinary suggestions prepared and served by enthusiastic Greg. For us a perfect place to unwind.
