Old rooms,
Awful towels , thin old and no longer white . No body soap in shower in one room so we needed to get it from the other room. The beds were comfortable . The breakfast was absolutely disgusting everything was stale , no water in egg boiler , all cold meats and fruit looked like they’d been out for days . All cooked for was edible and no one came out from the kitchen to check on any food whilst we were in the room. Only ok thing was the nespresso coffee maker.
Unfortunately won’t be staying there again

Rennes is old market town with many old builfdings some seem to be defying gravity other leaning heavily on their neghbours for support. The old town is quite extensive and is great for ambling around , on the edge of the old town is the river and a canal. The Thabor park is a gem well kept with a great variety . Renne is well located for trains and buses toi other places in brittany - Mont St michel , St Mlalo , and the lovley little town of Vitres are all about an hour away by public transport.

A lively city with some history and a great cultural ambience, great selection of shops, cafes, restaurants. The metro is also really efficient to get around from one end to another, into the suburbs and tickets are cheap too. Recommend going to the Champs Libres, a tour of the Parliament, the Cathedral of St Melaine and a walk through Parc du Thabor

Rennes is a beautiful city in the heart of Brittany, with a well preserved historical city core surprisingly unmolested by modernity. Very walkable with natives a lot more approachable than Parisians. Temperate weather, noticeable cooler than e.g. Bordeaux. Only downside that comes to mind is the small airport with infrequent and (relatively) expensive flights even to nearby London.

I only stay for one night each time I visit Rennes, in order to catch the car ferry from St Malo. This works well, especially on a Sunday evening when few restaurants are open, but street parking is free.

This is a unique hotel and staying was a special experience. We didn't eat there but the food always looked very good; we did have coffee and it was excellent. The room was delightful and having the toilet separate is a nice luxury. The bath products were of excellent quality, and I like their environmental considerations. Rennes is worth a visit but isn't a place I need to return to, but I would happily stay in Le Magic Hall if it were in another French city!
We stayed here for New Year and found it an excellent location for Rennes City Centre and all its attractions. The self catering facility was superb and extremely well equipped - you do not need to bring anything extra with you. The shower was excellent with plenty of hot water and the bed very comfortable. We were lucky enough to find a car parking space right outside the hotel for no charge. Thoroughly recommended and will re-visit.
The hotel was slick with all facilities of the highest standard. Thoroughly enjoyed our too brief stay, breakfast was lovely and plentiful and the hotel was in the centre of Rennes with access to all the city had to offer. The staff were charming and the outdoor bar was a wonderful relaxing place to chill out after a busy day
A lovely, small, quirky hotel based in this handsome, historic house in the heart of Rennes' old town. Friendly host. Our room was magnificent, enormous, wooden floored and atmospheric. We had the most wonderful meal at Estime, a restaurant a couple of doors down from the hotel; highly recommend!
Only planned to stay one night but stayed for 3.
nights,,!We never stay at any other hotel in Rennes, we love it so much. The host Christian is a first class man who shows only one standard which is Excellence. 8
