The town is quite spread out - cars or bicycles are needed...
The town is quite spread out - cars or bicycles are needed to get around. Most of the town faces the main beach area which is very oyster production orientated and not very pretty. There are a number of great restaurants and a nice town centre by the church - it’s not immediately obvious. The council has gone to great lengths to make the public areas nice with gardens and promenades.

The Ile d’Oleron is unspoiled and everyone was friendly and welcoming. Staff at the hotel were really lovely and helped to make our stay very enjoyable. the room was bright and airy and very clean.
