Located on the edge of the village, Chalet-Hôtel Neige et Roc, The Originals Relais (Hotel-Chalet de Tradition) offers the opportunity to sample French village life, with the center and its shops only... Neige et Roc combines rustic French charm with excellent service and outstanding food. Family run business, lovely staff, there is nothing to dislike! The hotel is in a quiet yet central location, offering convenient transport to ski lifts and a very welcome spa when you get off the slopes. A real gem and we will return!

A really nice place. I visited in the summer, I really enjoyed the hikes but you can also go down the river with kayaks, rafts etc, go horseriding, paragliding... lots to do outside of skiing! We had a local naturalist guide taking us to see marmots and showing us edible plants, that was quite a highlight! Otherwise, the city is doing a lot for public transportation, having no car that was a huge plus. The restaurant Grand Cret is absolutely delicious and with a fantastic view .... and even a veggie option! :)
Second visit to Samoens which is a pleasant village, we did not eat out much as in past experience it was busy and expensive so cannot comment on this visit. Pretty town which has all you would need to enjoy a great skiing holiday or even for a summer location. Very lovely walks along the mountain river.
Beautiful village and views. Been to majority of the large Alp resorts but not Samoens. Wanted to break the family into the Alps in a smaller village. That said, it had everything we needed. One thing it could do with in the centre is a decent supermarket - it has two tiny ones in Sherpa and Casino. There is one out of town but a bit of a trek by foot...
It has a French farmland feel to it like you are not staying in a purpose built French ski resort. There is a great campsite on the edge of town with a pretty lake so I could bring my campervan there for a more budget holiday. Les Glaciers hotel and bar underneath is the most lively. The bus lines are colour coded the yellow line served my bus stop Le Berouze only 3 stops less than 10 minutes from the ski lifts and two stops from the village centre. Le Carrefour supermarket was 1.1km walk from my hotel through nice French farmland. It is more refined not a larger louts place for getting too drunk.
Samoens is a pretty town and has some great restaurants but not that many so it is best to research and book ahead especially if for more than 4 people. Nice local shops and bars, good ski bus service but our airport transfer company (Snow Vans) also offered daily ski lifts so really didn't need a car. Would drop at one lift and pick up from another if required! A couple of supermarkets that stock everything you need in town. Non skiers can buy a foot pass for the Grand Massif Express to get into the mountains and walk or take in the views. We chose this area because it is so easy to get to from Geneva airport. Approx 1 hour outside of rush hour! Short flight from London and short transfer. All good
Samoens is a pretty little village with all the shops you need and good apres ski. You have to time the cable car right in the morning to avoid having to queue for too long. We ate at La Fandioleuse and La Louisiane, having booked at both places in advance.
Excellent facilities at the hotel, lovely warm welcome from the owners. The restaurant food was very good, with lovely ambiance and very well cooked and presented dishes. High standards throughout as the whole place was exceptionally clean. Spa area was lovely too. Our suite was very well laid out, extremely comfortable and had beautiful mountain views. The location of the hotel is perfect in Samoëns. We look forward to returning here.
Samoëns
Fully equiped chalet, with very nice furniture and surroundings. It is very close to the center of Samoens, but the chalet itself is in a very nice And quiet environment. Instructions for arriving and departing were very clear and much appreciated. Unfortunately, Swimming pool was closed due to COVID, but for the rest we did not have any complaint. Great appartement!
Hotel is a 3 star in every respect. Fundamentally needs a refresh - apart from the dining room there was no visible access to other facilities and staff seem to work 9-5 and breakfast only opens at 7.30. Rooms are basic and proper showers a ‘must’ after skiing all day should be installed - place needs a refresh. Super location though / just very tired
A charming old property owned by a private host who offers B and B in his own home. Walking distance to the village 3 mins and 10/12 mins walk to lift. ski bust stop outside. Beautiful large double room, high terrace, charming host, simple but good cold breakfast, French useful.
Bedroom had a beautiful view across the valley and mountains. Room was warm and very clean. Plenty of car parking if you have a car. Hotel is only 500m from the centre of Samoens so good for walking to and from in the evening. Staff are friendly and accommodating
