Surrounded by a garden, La Singulière is located in Séverac-Le-Château and features exposed wooden beams, stone walls and a fireplace. Superb, idiosyncratic, totally individual and unique. If on the other hand you like your hotels standard, faultless and charmless chain-style this one isn't probably for you. A pretty little garden with children's toys and places to sit in the shade containing a 300 year old stone house, the home of the welcoming owners. A family home of very long standing, richly furnished with a wonderful array of furniture, photographs, books and objet d'art. You dine and breakfast, if you so choose, around a large table with the other guests, served by Madam who has prepared and cooked everything. Clean, comfortable, wonderful, unusual.
Nice friendly staff and drinks not overpriced. Basic room with tiny shower (and I do mean tiny). Hotel states on site parking but this is not the case as you have to park in the train stations car park.
The hotel is absolutely beautiful as are the views. We stayed in the sunflower room which was much larger than we had anticipated and just lovely, a perfect first night on holiday to unwind. The location is beautiful, but a drive to any restaurants. We used the kitchen and had some dinner and wine on the terrace which was very relaxing. The breakfast was very nice, local produce and the hosts were extremely accommodating. Thank you for having us!
Was a good base for us to travel out and about. Parking was free and available across from the hotel, except for on market day. The chap on the bar was very friendly and helpful. He was the only staff member we saw but he was very efficient and fast.
