I love staying in towns off from a big city. Versailles was wonderful without the crowds…I visited the chateau on a Wednesday not crowded at all. Met someone on a train, she went Thursday and said it was very crowded. Overall Versailles was wonderful. Took a day trip to Rambouillet which is on the Paris Museum Pass. Easy and convenient.
If driving to Paris Versailles is a great location to park the car and use public transport to get around easy journey to Centre of Paris using RER. Visiting the Palace if you’ve not been before is a must but go at 10am it gets really busy with long queues after that. Versailles also has some of the most authentic and best restaurants for families. It also has a tradition market and if your missing fast food a McDonalds and KFC outside the train station. Recommend eating at Le Boeuf a la Mode you can reserve a table on line traditional French cuisine great value for money kids loved it.
Wonderful Palace, pleased there was the little train to take us around when our legs ached ! lovely restaurant by the lake. Did not have time to see everything, not as young as I was, can't get around so quickly, I would personally spread it over 2 days to take in everything leisurely.
Only problem was that I booked a 'skip the queue ' guided tour of the Royal apartments and then booked another tour of the Grand Musical Fountains and garden which cost another 3xEUR10.50 = EUR31.50. At the end of our tour we were given a free ticket to go to the gardens which included everything we paid for with the second tour, Why is the website not clear on this? The money was wasted on buying the Gardens tickets. We should get a refund but it is very difficult to know who to approach for this.
The first time I toured Versailles I saw the chateau area, which is something to see to appreciate French history. This time, with the encouragement of our Versailles B&B host, we did a quick tour of the chateau because my husband had not seen it, and then spent most of our time in the grounds and Marie Antoinette's sector of the property which is magical. It was really nice to stay in Versailles, day-tripping from Paris would make the time at the Chateau is too short or the day too long.
Versailles was really good the palace and all the other sites around town great for kids even grandma & grandpa. If doing the palace do the inside palace early that way you have plenty of time to view the gardens which take 3-4 hours walking even can take longer.
The Ibis is located perfectly in sight of the train station and just 300m from the Chateau Versailles. The staff was super friendly, hotel was clean and modern. Very good price/value. Rooms are small and simple but that is totally ok. Breakfast buffet was ok. Supermarket in 5min walking distance. Nice Restaurants and bars too. Not too loud. Good stay in total.
Excellent location in Versailles, and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We came in late, stayed overnight, and left the next morning so it was a short stay. The price for the size and quality of the room was the best we experienced on our entire 10-day London & Paris trip. Would absolutely stay here again in a heartbeat.
Versailles
Loved the apartment and the location. Able to go to the palace in less than 10 minutes and enjoy the city of Versailles immediately after the visit to the palace. Enjoyed the quick access to the train station making it possible te easily go to Paris without the hassle. Would recommend a stay!
Fantastic Location! Walking distance to the Palace at Versailles! Great bed and the breakfast was wonderful - I could have eaten away the morning! Very typically small Paris hotel room but very comfortable! Nice bed, great shower (tiny bathroom!) and very quiet (YAY)!
The hotel, service, location was amazing. We visited the palace of Versailles, which was walking distance. We also ate in the Gordon Ramsey restaurant for a 7 course dinner and it was delicious. We drove into Paris which was nice and easy - only 12 miles.
The hotel is very conveniently located just a few minutes walk from the Palace of Versailles. The room was clean and comfortable for a 2 night stay. The staff was very friendly and breakfast was good.
The hotel is really nice, and the room that we've chosen is ideal for my family. Walking distance to Parking de Sceaux and Palace of Versailles.
Close to bars and restaurants and 10 mins walk to Versailles Palace . Parking below hotel. Room comfortable and nice walk in shower
The location, walking distance to Versailles Palace is excellent, and there are nearby bars and restaurants.
The location was great for entry to Versailles - that for us was the only positive aspect of this hotel.
5 mins away from Versailles. No frills hotel but extremely friendly staff and very clean premises
