The location is excellent, 5 minutes walking from the Palace through the lovely garden. The reception staff was very friendly and very helpful. The bed was comfortable and my room, facing the courtyard, was super quiet. Of course, the historic building of the hotel is old (there is no elevator) and requires certain renovation (especially the carpets), but for me, as a solo traveler, the character of the hotel and the proximity to the Palace were more important than any stains on the carpet. If you travel by car, use the parking by the Palace, it’s very close. I was lucky to park my car on the street right by the hotel door - €2.40 per hour from 9AM till 7PM (parking at night is free). If I return to Versailles, I would definitely stay in Angleterre

A bit dated when we drove up so we worried the photos were misleading. We were able to find a parking spot outside and found that there were a number of spots open in the morning. The rooms are antique in style And very nice. The showers were modern and excellent In our two rooms. The staff was very friendly and helped us with restaurant recommendations. Air conditioning was great! The elevator is small, like most hotels in Paris. The location could not be beat! We were a one or two minute walk to the entrance to Versailles! Very very convenient. Overall, would recommend the hotel.

The Hotel was within reasonable distance to Versailles (we used Uber) and within walking distance to multiple restaurants/bakery/pharmacy. We did not try the breakfast since there were so many local options nearby. The staff was superb and very helpful.

We enjoyed seeing the Palace and associated artwork, the estate of Trianon, and the Palace grounds. There are many beautiful statues throughout the property. Touring the palace and grounds requires a lot of walking. We rented a golf cart to tour the palace grounds. The rental was 40 euro for the first hour and 10 euro for each additional 15 minutes. The golf carts were limited as to where you could go, and it took almost an entire hour to drive the route you were allowed to travel on while stopping to take a few photographs.

Beautiful, scenic and clean city. There are many eating areas with good local food especially near the Palace and gardens. We did not use the bus services as it was a bit confusing to figure out the routes

The palace was beautiful but I enjoyed the gardens and the Grand and Petit Trianon the most. Spent almost 6 hours there in total. But don't skip the town itself as it has really nice architecture, cute cobbled streets and many shops and restaurants.

I am assuming that most people travelling to Versailles are going for the Palaces and gardens. The grandeur and scale of the palaces is immense, the sense of history, excess and wealth really hits you. Having said that, you will be doing a lot of queing and you will be shuffling from room to room with 1000's of other people poking their cameras and phones into your space.

We loved Versailles plenty of cafe's, bars and restaurants to chose from at
affordable prices, if you just fancy a light lunch wonderful deli offering
excellent selection. Small Carrefour and other grocery stores easily accessible. We found it very easy to get around Versailles we had a 2 day pass for the Chateau and gardens and it was amazing. After reading reviews before we planned our trip we pre - booked our tickets for the earliest time possible as it can get very busy, it worked just fine we visited on Wednesday and again on Thursday.
