The hotel is a rural country inn surrounded on three sides by farm fields. The pool is very nice and well maintained. It was a hot day so the first thing we did after arriving at the hotel was to take a dip in the pool. Later the same day we had a beautifully presented and delicious meal on the patio of the restaurant. It was so quiet and peaceful that we could hear the flames of the hot air balloons floating by in the distance. The views are amazing! While we were eating outside on the patio, we had a view of the gardens of Marqueyssac and Castlenaud-la-chapelle. The menu was all from local farms. The owners Lydie and Giles were very kind and helpful. We took a train from Bordeaux to Sarlat and then a taxi to the hotel. Taxi service is difficult to use here. We had reservations to take a canoe trip down the Dordogne starting at Dome but no way to get there. Lydie tried four different taxi services and they were all not available. She then spoke with her husband Giles, who is also the chef, and he gave us a ride to Dome in his own car and refused to accept any money. While we were at Canoe Loisirs, Giles spoke to the manager and arranged for them to take us back to the hotel. It was very gracious of him to do that for us.

What a spot to spend the last days of our vacation in the Dordogne Valley. Nathalie and Laurent were great hosts. From a warm greeting when we arrived to seeing them each morning as they brought a wonderful breakfast to our room at the prearranged time. The place is beautifully decorated, our room/living area was super spacious with the view across the valley floor to Castelnaud perched on the opposite hill. And of course the balloons drifting by most mornings and evenings. The location is central, Castelnaud across the bridge, picturesque towns just “down the road” in either direction. The Jardins de Marqueyssac (highly recommend!) just up the hill. About a 25 minute drive to prehistoric cave paintings at Les Eyzies. Everything is close. There are restaurants in the nearby towns, but also a great spot just across the road, with Lucile and Corrine looking after you. The only sad part was having to leave Nathalie, Laurent and their lovely place to head home. Highly recommend this B&B. A real treat!

Rick Steves says it's the best breakfast in France...and it is ! Omelettes made to order, countless choices of cheeses, meats. breads, lots of delicious home made desserts and dishes, including beef bourguignon that took her 48 hours to make ! It's a beautiful mansion / palace right on the river with extensive, lovely grounds, gardens and a large heated pool. The host is the kindest, most hard working and lovely person you could meet. I was playing her son's classical guitar in the parlor and she brought over a carafe of her delicious homemade walnut wine to share with my wife. An amazing and wonderful experience.

This is a very beautiful place in a beautiful setting less than a mile from the center of Domme. The hotel and rooms are exceptional!! Ours had a modern, fully equipped kitchen which was very convenient, as well as a spacious bathroom and bedroom. The pool and outside terrace are also amazing. The staff was wonderful! They were so welcoming and helpful with anything we needed.

Set in a quiet, rural location but still within a very short drive of Sarlat town centre. The hotel was our family's base from which to explore the area & we found it ideally placed with the main roads accessible within a few minutes drive. All parts of the hotel were incredibly clean & well maintained. Strong and reliable WiFi with good mobile phone reception. Breakfast was excellent & well worth paying the extra for. The owners were very helpful & responded immediately to any requests we made. We would certainly recommend this hotel to others and would definitely return for a further stay.

Where we stayed in Vezac was really closer to La Roque-...

Where we stayed in Vezac was really closer to La Roque-Gageac. There was a lovely paved walk into La Roque. It was a great base to visit the prehistorique caves of Lascaux and La Grotte de Fond-de-Gaume. It was too cool and windy to enjoy a canoe trip on the Dordogne River, but that would be fun in summer. We would have liked to have explored Sarlat,which I have visited before, but were taking a slow leisurely pace, so didn't have time.

This small hotel is very conveniently located for visiting Castelnaud-la-Chapelle, Baynac and the surrounding area. The spectacular town of Sarlat is only 12 minutes away. The rooms are clean and it has everything you need at an affordable price.
