Located in Abbotsbury, 19 mi from Lyme Regis, Abbotsbury Tea Rooms features a restaurant and free WiFi. Fitted with a patio, the units feature a flat-screen TV and a private bathroom with a hairdryer.... We used the tea rooms as a stopover but really wish we’d based ourselves here for longer. Unfortunately our stay didn’t coincide with the tea room opening hours and would make sure we did a return visit next time we are in the uk as I have no doubts it would be fantastic. The family room was perfect with an en-suite bathroom with a bath big enough to stretch out in and spotlessly clean
East Farm House B&B is a beautiful Dorset property set in the village of Abbotsbury, around 2 miles from the nearest beaches. This charming, family-run property dates back to the 17th century. Absolutely lovely place. The room was cute and clean with wonderful facilities. The breakfast was above and beyond.
Located in Littlebredy, Top Parts Bed & Breakfast offers a garden. Each room is fitted with a terrace with views of the garden. The units at the bed and breakfast are fitted with a seating area. Great location to explore locally and surrounding areas. Jasper is an excellent host
Wheelwrights is located in Abbotsbury and offers a garden and a terrace. The accommodation is 19 miles from Lyme Regis, and guests benefit from private parking available on site and free WiFi. Perfect location for my needs. Sue and Nigel were so welcoming and promptly provided tea and delicious cake upon my arrival. They were also extremely accommodating in allowing my son and daughter-in-law, with their baby, to use my room to freshen up after a long drive - so kind of them.
We knew nothing about the village of Abbotsbury when we booked. It exceeded our expectations and is a remarkable place. The village is unspoilt, with many traditional thatched cottages and no street lights. The surroundings are spectacular with the fleet, Chesil Bank, St Catherine's Chapel on the hill-top to the south and the Ridgeway with ancient round barrows and the remains of a hill fort to the north. The village is served by the Jurassic Coaster bus service; this provides easy access to Lyme Regis, Bridport, Weymouth, Lulworth Cove and other destinations between Axminster and Poole. There are several tea-rooms, a farmshop and a convenience store in the village.
Lovely small village, not too touristy and a great location for exploring Dorset and the surrounding area. Two good pubs and a few shops, a short drive or good walk to a good long quiet (when we went) beach.
Abbotsbury is perfect as a place to go and have a quiet few days, in a beautiful landscape with wonderful walks and lovely scenery. The village is small but beautiful, with a couple of pubs providing good food and more available just a short drive away.
A historic town with a great atmosphere due to wonderful old buildings. There are many things to see and great walks on the coast and inland too. The Fleet and Chesil Beach is are areas of exceptional beauty and interest.
Abbotsbury is a great location in the centre of the Jurassic Coast. The village itself if very peaceful, but everything is available. The is a village grocery shop, two pubs selling food, an art gallery!, a farm shop and a few local gift shops, as well as a few lunch bistros. The Ilchester Pub certainly has a higher quality food. Within the walking distance there is the Chisel Beach and the Swannery. If you want to see the main tourist attractions of the Jurassic Coast everything is within a half an hour car ride.
A lovely village full of character. The Ilminster Arms is only 5 minutes walk and serves excellent food, albeit from a small menu. We enjoyed it's location and did several 8 mile walks, all with wonderful views to take in.
