Airth
In Falkirk’s countryside, 14th-century Airth Castle Hotel enjoys a peaceful setting. Once owned by the family of Robert the Bruce, it has a luxury spa, an elegant restaurant and stylish rooms. Accommodations were great. We needed an extra bed in the room, and they provided us with a comfortable cot bed. Breakfast was amazing! It included haggis and even black pudding, very traditional from Scotland.

We visited neighbouring Falkirk for some of our stay. There is plenty to see and do. The Shore was a good family pub/restaurant which isn’t far from Airth Castle. The weather was pretty poor during our stay, Stirling Castle was a favourite destination during our trip.
This hotel it looks amazing in the photos, but in reality it is very poor. Having to complain and move room is disappointing start to a holiday. The reception staff tried to smooth things over by asked the head waiter to make our evening meal special. The ignorant, arrogant waiter could not be bothered. The restaurant served an appalling meal, avoid the overcooked crispy sea bass on a bed of congealed cold risotto. Don't expect the wine waiter to be speedy, you may have finished eating before the wine arrives!
I wouldn’t recommend staying at airth castle. The rooms are nothing like the photos. False advertising in my opinion. Checked out 10 minutes after checking in. 5 days later we eventually got our refund.
The food and ambience was excellent. Take up the dinner and breakfast offer as it is well worth it, and there is little else close. It is close to other activities such as the Kelpies and the Falkirk Wheel. Just a good stay for us.
Castle executive rooms are poor, they require major upgrading. I expected better considering the price. The rooms in the castle are also very noisy from events, we couldn’t sleep. Otherwise the staff were lovely and helpful, restaurant food is wonderful and we really enjoyed using the pool and spa. We still had a lovely break here but disappointed with the room.
