Everything was fine. There were apologies because they were in the midst of refurbishing, but there was no inconvenience at all. The restaurant looked a little 'tired', but the food was very good, and so was the service. Great spot for a nice quiet weekend.
Thought I'd reserved a night in a castle but discovered on check in had to stay in "annex." Was very unhappy about that until I checked material condition of the castle ... Very much in need of upgrade.
Beautiful little town. Very quiet and perfect location to visit Stirling and Edinburgh castle. Quick and easy drive to EDI also. New Eastern Market does fabulous take out if you don't feel like a restaurant sit down.
