'Stokoe Cottage' is set in Alston. Complimentary WiFi is available. The property consists of 1 separate bedroom, 1 bathroom and a living room. The house is superb, the hosts helpful and I thought the provision of dog towels was a very nice touch although I had brought my own. I just wish I could have stayed longer 11/10.

Lovely location among the stone cottages of the old town. Two mins walk from shops and overlooking the church. Spotlessly clean and warm. Host very friendly and helpful with local info. Lovely relaxing hotel. Huge room with a sofa and upholstered chairs. Staff very friendly. Wasn't keen on carpet in bathroom could do with revamp but clean and good value for money. Ate in the restaurant and food was good.
Beautiful little village with such charming shops and houses. A very close knit community and also friendly. The houses/dwellings are full of history and are kept so clean. They have local pubs The Turks Head, which we visited, they have a gorgeous cider called Friels, refreshing on a hot day. They were so kind, as they provided a bowl of water for our 2 little dogs! A local co-op, post office, chippy and kebab house Tonys, we had food from there last night, the pizza and Donner kebab was to die for! Definitely 5 star! The church in the town is the main feature and soaked in history. You can walk to any of these facilities. We found a river side walk out dogs loved it, we spotted a beautiful Shire horse and Shetland pony just grazing in a huge field, the weather was perfect, it has been a delightful break away from busy Blackpool.
We came in the middle of the week, albeit at the end summer holidays, and yet the location felt very quiet and a bit deserted, but we dont mind quiet at all. The town is small but absolutely every singe person said hello and smiled as we walked past them, it was refreshing and lovely and we can’t wait to come back again. We had a great stay at the cottage, it was rustic yet clean. This is a place for going on long walks and having drinks in the pub, loved it.

Everything was as we expected and just what we needed. Even tea, milk and coffee waiting for us and delicious chocolate biscuits, so good after a long journey. Taller people beware of low beams! Co op really handy for food, papers, drinks etc. Ate at a pub down the road at the bottom of the village. they were really friendly and we enjoyed our food.

We wanted somewhere to relax for a couple of days after walking the Hadrian's Wall Path. The Hideaway was ideal. It is a good size for a couple, centrally located in Alston, near restaurants and pubs. The flat was very clean and equipped with everything we needed. Communication with Ron and Vera was clear and all the arrangements were straightforward.
The location was good, being in the centre of Alston. However, it is on a steep hill and so parking on a motorbike nearby was dubious. Fortunately, a very helpful resident allowed us to park our bikes in their garage during our stay. The owner (Tonia) and her friend (Marie), were both very nice, helpful, and welcoming.
Guy and his staff are always warm and welcoming. The hotel location is perfect for us and the breakfast is first-class. We come to Alston to visit a brother-in-law with Alzheimer's and they welcomed him to an evening meal with us and had endless patience, for which we are really grateful.
Set in a lovely market town. Nice pubs with great food served in the Cumberland hotel opposite. Great local walks. House was lovely, very well decorated, with modern touches. Very spacious and clean. Beds extremely comfortable. Beautiful garden with lovely seating areas . parking.
This studio apartment had everything we required for our short break. It was very clean and well appointed in a lovely central location in the town. On street parking was readily available nearby. Local convenience store was nearby and pub / restuarant a short walk away

Jane was a responsive and helpful host; good communication. Requested yogurt for breakfast, and she provided it. Large space with sofa and table. Good bathroom. Excellent location for those walking the Pennine Way. Alston is a lovely village, too.
The location was great for us as we like walking. The owners lived on site and were friendly and helpful but left us to ourselves. 20 minute walk down into Alston with both individual shops and a good Spar.
Alston town centre is within walking distance although the range of shops etc is limited. Plenty places to visit if you're happy to drive and some nice local walks.
loved the location in Alston. Beautiful area for walking.
