Everything was really well laid out in the room and the whole complex, the room was very clean and comfortable, the location was close to everything but far enough to be more quiet. The bed was very comfortable!

Lovely quiet hotel & not far from Ambelside. Breakfast was fantastic & plenty of selection. The Bar looked great & the food smelled very nice but sadly I didn't try any. I would defo recommend a stay here, plenty of coffee etc in the room & the bathroom had plenty of soaps, towels etc. They also let me leave my car there after I checked out & looked after my car keys. A very enjoyable stay.

Food quality was great. Bit more variety on the evening meals would help for those staying longer than 4 days but that is being picky. Fantastic breakfast - if there is something you want but cannot find on the buffet then ask the chefs - all very helpful. The spa was amazing and great for a rainy day. Location is perfect for walks and local communities. Room was cozy and comfortable. For 6 days we could have done with booking a bigger room - it is worth checking the options for longer stays - but the bed was super comfy and we wish we'd bought the robes.

Ambleside is a very nice small town on the northern end of Lake Windermere. You can walk to the main part of town in about twenty minutes from the Lake. It has a wide variety of places to eat, a lot of pubs, a Tesco Express, lots of outdoor gear shops, two Cinemas and lots of character. We very much enjoyed our stay.

Attractive small town in very convenient central location for exploring the Lake District. Wide choice of restaurants, bars and takeaways. Lovely views in all directions. Excellent bus service connecting with Windermere rail station.

Ambleside was great , all of the Lake District is fantastic...

Ambleside was great , all of the Lake District is fantastic to see. Plenty of good eating options. The only downside of the lake district is the over cost of the parking charges, went two three different areas for short time. Cost in total £19 pounds

Lovely town with plenty of little bespoke shops, pubs and restaurants. Great base for exploring the different places within the Lake District with good travel links and options for walks . Ambleside has a number of lovely walks and trails to suit all with central starting points to the town . I can recommend the Coffin route from Ambleside to Grashmere it is well signposted and offers lovely views with a few landmarks along the way . Stock gyleforce is a shorter wooded walk with beautiful waterfalls again starts in the centre of the town

Ambleside is perfectly placed to explore the central fells...

Ambleside is perfectly placed to explore the central fells and Langdales with a short trip up to Keswick taking you up into the Northern peaks. It can get very busy even out of season especially at weekends so be prepared for a bit of traffic congestion at certain times of day. There is a good variety of shops and eating establishments making it a good base for walking or just a bit of sightseeing.

The location in the middle of the town, not navy car park spots outside but I rang the hotel beforehand to see if we could take our dog & they said yes, because they had just become a dog friendly hotel the week before we came to stay so I paid just £15 charge for our pet to come aswell, there's a waterfall trail just behind our hotel & a lovely restaurant with a view over Ambleside half way up the road/trail we stopped at for a cuppa. It's a lovely welcoming place to stay.

The exterior of the hotel looked beautiful. The room was neat and tidy. The breakfast food was good quality. A really good location for walks and drives to nearby places. Very dog friendly. The pub adjoining was a friendly and well run place.
