With a charming oak-beamed restaurant, this former motel offers home-cooked food and real ales. Dartmoor Lodge is on the edge of South Dartmoor, surrounded by scenic Devonshire countryside. After checking in and finding our room the first impression was that the room looked a little dated however it was exceptional clean and had been decorated and finished to a good standard with modern fittings. The breakfast and dinner in the evening in the restaurant was amazingly good and great value for money. Every member of staff that looked after us was cheerful and ready to help no matter what time of the day. Excellent location for visiting Dartmoor and the surrounding areas and easy access to the Port in Plymouth. Good value for money.
The Armourers Forge, Ashburton is located in Ashburton and offers a garden and a terrace. Excellent location. Walking distance to all bars, shops and restaurants. The property itself was beautiful. Newly renovated, modern kitchen and appliances. The property was spacious, spotless and furnishings were to a high spec. The beds and pillows were very comfortable and we all slept well. Great parking at the back of the property. I would definitely stay here again.
Located in Ashburton in the Devon region, Bankhouse features a terrace. The property is 18 miles from Exeter, and guests benefit from complimentary WiFi and private parking available on site. The property was enormous. My children enjoyed most of it which they can run around and they provided some choices of games. The town was so nice and relaxing place to stay and nearby to Dartmoor national park. Essential shops just next to our main door. Everything was excellent.
Located in Newton Abbot, Sladesdown Farm has accommodations with free WiFi, within 7 miles of Newton Abbot Racecourse. Hiking and fishing can be enjoyed nearby. Lovely woman runs the place. So warm and welcoming. Keeps it beautiful. Gorgeous serene place. Excellent breakfast.
Located in Buckfastleigh on the edge of Dartmoor National Park, next to the banks of River Dart. Among the various facilities of this property are a terrace, garden and a bar. The location is fabulous within the grounds of the Abbey. No road or neighbour noise. The hotel and its grounds are very well kept and everything was spotlessly clean. The staff are all so welcoming, helpful and cheerful, making you feel very relaxed. The breakfast is comprehensive and well run. The restaurant itself is airy and light, and the staff are delightful. The dinner menu gave sufficient choices, and the food was very well cooked and presented. The rooms are simply furnished to a very high quality, in a contemporary style. Everything feels well thought through, and is executed brilliantly by the staff. Excellent location for exploring Dartmoor and South Devon. We will be looking for reasons to stay here again!
Near to Buckfast Abbey which is well worth a visit and has undergone a thorough restoration. On the very edge of Dartmoor and all the beautiful scenery and walks that it has to offer. Easy access to Plymouth via A38. There is a steam train in Buckfastleigh that runs to Totnes where you can get a boat to Dartmouth. Ashburton is famous for its Antique shops and the village itself is well worth a walk around'
A lovely small market town with plenty of shops for browsing and lots of cafes serving very nice food. Shop and cafe owners were all very friendly and the whole place has a pleasant, laid - back atmosphere.
Excellent location. Right on the edge of Dartmoor. Peaceful and quiet.Easy distance to other towns and villages. Wildlife and beautiful scenery all around. A few pubs a short drive away which serve lovely meals.
Ashburton is a great place to stay, close to the lovely picturesque Dartmoor and the river dart, also 30 mins from the English Riviera Torquay and Brixham. Plenty of Buses to hop on, and great pubs and restaurants. An extra 15 mins and you in the city life of Plymouth with its lively bar scene the Barbican area. Though currently long tailbacks due to roadworks getting into the city.
Shame the locals refuse to use the huge car park and choose to cause chaos on the streets (both of them!). Several antique and quirky shops, but also "useful" grocery supplies from Co-op to artisan baker, butcher, fishmonger and wine shop. Lovely setting and largely historic buildings. Staying nearby for a few days - Shahnaz Tandoori deliveries miles around for free and was really excellent.
The location is excellent to explore the area, near Dartmoor with lots of walks and villages, the coast with all the picturesque villages, and lovely beaches. The village was limited for entertainment due to COVID, so had to drive out to restaurants. A couple of pubs were open.
Kate & Nathan were wonderful hosts! Their property is about 600 years old and full of character yet with modern comforts and conveniences. Located on the edge of the moor, the setting and gardens are lovely and so very relaxing. And breakfast was delicious! Check out their website for more information! And it's a very manageable walk into the quaint town of Ashburton.
Great location for touring the moors. The room was clean and comfortable had three nights of good sleep. The breakfast is a buffet style help yourself and good quality. On the Sunday we had the carvary dinner which was excellent , a very good quality meat selection all in all a great deal. Which would be apparent from all the non hotel residents that eat there.
Nice old building exceptional quality , well looked after. Central to ashburton. Not a full English breakfast but good quality eggs, cereals croissants etc.
A very well equipped property, great location in the centre of Ashburton, everything we wanted.
