Just the best place to stay if you want a traditional pub in a great location, with fabulous friendly staff. Nothing is too much trouble at this lovely country pub and the rooms are spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The food is first class with great menu choices and the French twist adds to the whole experience. Breakfast is also superb and served with a smile, to set you up for a pleasant day. Great choice of walks from the doorstep in this beautiful small village, along with a friendly welcoming bar for that well earned drink, after a day out in the Dales.

Excellent location for hiking the Three Peaks Stunning pod with a very homely feel to it. Lovely underfloor heating which was a delight for very tired cold feet after a long day of hiking. Breakfast was delicious and was delivered to the pod. Nice other touches of cake, fruit, bread and milk left. Host was great. Overall, a great stay. Thank you.

Rural area. Lovely views.

Rural area. Lovely views. Settle is a short drive away which is handy for pubs, shopping and fuel top up. Well placed for Lancaster and similar. Nice pub, restaurant and cream tea on door step. Post office in the village but we didn't use it. Great for all sort of walks and peace and quiet.

Super traditional English pub with a great Vibe, food and Ales. Staff were exceptional. Rooms good with nice en-suites . Good size flat TV and small fridge that was really useful. Came stocked with milk for coffee, bottled water , chocolate and fruit. Massively enjoyed our stay. Would highly recommend

Superb location in a pretty village in the heart of the Dales. Great walking from the village, and stunning views. Food at The Gamecock is wonderful. Great ecofriendly shop in the village supplying locally crafted goods, refilling service, eco friendly items including baby items, toys

Lovely part of the Yorkshire Dales. Lots of stunning walks. We were blessed with gorgeous weather as well. We stayed at The Game Cock Inn which was lovely. The staff were really helpful and friendly. The food was really nice and the breakfast was superb. The yummy bakery attached to the pub was an added bonus with Delicious homemade tarts and a selection of different breads We also wandered down the road to The Traddock ( A Yorkshire Dales Hotel and Restaurant) which was beautiful, with stunning gardens and friendly staff too.

This place is a delight! In the heart of the quiet and totally charming Dales village of Austwick, GameCock is an absolute gem! We stayed just one night but dinner, breakfast, room and staff were faultless. Everyone was so welcoming and helpful, and we can’t wait to come back! Oh, and the homemade patisserie cakes were stunning! Well done to Maree, Eric and the rest of the team!!

Lovely comfortable cottage with plenty of room and great for the dogs with a fully enclosed back yard and room in the kitchen/diner for them to sleep. The village pub is great (no tv for sport mind if that is your thing), the bakery, and shops are all delightful and the Traddock hotel is really nice.

Three bedrooms rather than two as stated by booking.com. Very convenient location for our activities, some of which were in Austwick village hall. Adequare parking space on the road. Unusual but appealing layout.
