Some lovely places to eat nearby with fresh fish and locally grown produce. A pretty little harbour town with an old fashioned High Street including Butcher, excellent Baker, Greengrocer and Veggie shop and cafe and gift shops. Right near the coast with interesting walks past the house boats.
My son & I really enjoyed spending time wandering over the rock pools. We also had a super lunch at the cafe near the lifeboat station. Wonderful place just to relax & watch the boats go by.
The Bembridge / St Helen's bay is very picturesque and somehow honest, whilst on the other side of town you have the iconic lifeboat station at the end of the pier and some lovely beaches. There are some very good individual privately owned and run restaurants with reasonable prices for the quality of the food. It doesn't have the tourist trap feel of some of the other villages, so very natural and relaxing.
