This splendid manor house is set in 35 acres of wooded parkland and offers modern facilities in historic surroundings. The property features an indoor pool and a gymnasium. The most lovely place I have ever seen ! Amazing building, helpful nice staff, tasty food , great choice of food for breakfast. Just perfect!
Lovely individual shops to browse, good choice of restaurants and eateries, in addition to the branch of Waitrose and M&s food hall. The town had a welcoming feel, and the appearance of some Christmas decorations although a little early did enhance the town. Lovely Saturday market too.
A compact town with many interesting and varied shops. There were also plenty of options for coffee or alcohol, which was also important! A walk along the canal is always amazing, with plenty of wildlife.
I came to visit family who live in Berkhamsted and wanted to be central. It’s a lovely little market town with lots of interesting shops that are within walking distance as well as lots of coffee shops to stop in. We ate in the hotel one evening and the food was fresh and well prepared with very attentive ,friendly staff. I loved the charity shops( we don’t have them in SA) also the antique shops and restaurant We also ate in an Italian restaurant “Ask” I think was the name and had a great meal . Very child friendly and authentic
Berkhamsted is a charming place. Plenty of very good pubs and restaurants to choose; however, you need to book in advance if you want to eat on Friday and Saturday nights because everywhere can be full. The town has quite a bit of history to it and the canal is lovely to walk along and visit pubs along the way. Parking is a nightmare and there aren't that many car parks and most of them are short stay. Recommend The Penny Farthing Hotel at one end of High Street. It is comfortable and reasonably priced for B&B and the staff are wonderful. Also free parking which is a big bonus. Easily accessible by train.
Berkhamsted is a lovely small town with plenty of independent shops and no shortage of restaurants and cafes. Went to “The Goat” pub to watch the football and unexpectedly stayed there til closing savouring the great atmosphere and dancing to the band.
We visited the Ask Italian, Pizza express and Costa Coffee. Good prompt service in all of the places but particular mention to Pizza Express for their consideration and promise to produce a pizza of choice without the cheese (allergies) and the result was excellent. Will go there again on my next visit. Not far to Bletchley Park the GC & CS (GCHQ) of its day. Very interesting. Also Whaddeston Manor just outside Aylesbury. Easy to find both locations. Busy little town but pleasant with a nearby canal walk.
An amazing breakfast set of choices. Lovely pub attached. Great location in town relative to shopping, train station, and countryside walking opportunities.
Comfort,peaceful and well located.
